....or when they say "get out of the 90's" or "grunge is dead" or "are they still around?". Get out of the 90's. A more ignorant statement I could not make.

Oh yeah, get that a lot too. I normally expect 3 standard reactions...

    1. Pearl who ?
    2. are they still going ?
    3. didn't their singer kill himself years ago ?

    so frustrating!!

    Agreed.

I was hanging out with a friend tonight and he has always said my obsession with PJ was a little overboard. He (like most people) was only really acquainted with Ten. I popped in Binaural and made a fan out of him with Nothing As It Seems, Of the Girl, Sleight of Hand, and Parting Ways.

It baffles my mind when people say that Pearl Jam "sucks"

I too, get told I'm "obsessed" with PJ, but to me it's harmless and not hurting anybody when I get a lot of enjoyment from listening to their music, having a life that isn't easy. I'm not obsessed as I don't go overboard buying up merchandise and I only have 3 tour posters, and I do listen to music other than PJ's though I always come back to listening to them. I find it offensive that I'm labelled "obsessive" when I'm not.

When people say that PJ suck, they're ignorant fools, however it's their loss, not ours. ;)
  • I think they all are. Specially ament and mike. I could say I´m obsessed with PJ. Don´t care what anybody thinks about it. It took me morethan ten years to finally be able to travel and get to see them live next week!!

Lol...who cares if it's bad, I feel the same way! :p
    Waves roll in my thoughts...
  • I was scared shitless he would die last year during STP's tour but he made it and I'm pretty sure he's clean right now. Scott has described himself as a cockroach, he even said in an interview I think a few years ago if there was a nuclear attack he would survive.

Speaking of being at another level talent wise, are there any Jeff Buckley fans here? I often wonder what he would have done had he lived. I think he was musical genious too. ;)

I think about this guy and Elliot Smith and the term "Shakespearean" comes to mind.
