    US food "aid" has ruined local economies in the past. it imports grain into certain countries, for example, and undercuts the local farmers prices, disrupts their ability to make a living from the local crop....so their livelihoods are stolen , they are forced into population centers...which has no way of taking care of them...the unemployed grow, the poor grow the misery grows.....and at the end of the day people like you can say, "well we gave them food, what more do they want?" "AID" can be used as an economic weapon.
