Why the Beacon is going to be a let down

Let me start off by saying that I am still looking for an affordable ticket and plan on being there. I just got off the phone with Lucy and there are still plenty of $2,500 tickets available. I also have a friend that is going with his work tickets (8 of them) and he said the people with him will know 3 songs from Ten and be on their Blackberries the rest of the concert. I think the majority of the board will be rocking out in the balcony but not sure that the band will be putting on their usual performance with a ton of lame and bored people sitting in their seats front and center. Obviously just my opinion and with that being said I plan on being there and hope I'm wrong. Still looking for a ticket.

I dont see how going to a PJ show at a 3000 seat venue could be a letdown.
    No matter who is there.

A show like that will never be repeated (unless you're watching the DVD).

sorry dude. can't let you try and lie to yourself and everyone else about what this show is or isn't going to be like.

I see you haven't been posting here for very long but we've been down this road before.

people said the same thing about the borgata shows and the house of blues benefit show; only "high rollers" would be there and all that shit. turns out they were wrong. those shows kicked ass. i was there, i know what i'm talking about.

i am 100% positive pearl jam will put on an awesome show. just get tickets if you want to go and stop trying to bring others expectations down so you can feel better about potentially missing out.

    peace

well put. i'd give anything to be there. It will be great.

1 major difference, Borgata and HOB was general admission, most people on this board will not be in the Orchestra level. If price wasn't a factor unless it was first 5 rows I'd prefer to be up in the balcony with the majority of this board.

That's the spirit, Mike should nail picks at all of them. All I'm saying is that we all know how much the band feeds off the crowd's energy and I'm sure there will be plenty of energy, just not front and center (I apologize to anyone on this board who may have splurged on the $2,500 seats, obviously my comments are not directed at you but you will be in the minority in the orchestra)

As soon as this show was announced, people were billing it as Vic part II. Maybe I'm just bitter because it will be in my backyard and I won't have the money to see it, but I just don't see it happening. I mean, yea the balcony might fucking collapse from all of the energy brewing, but when $2500 seats/ the best seats are still available at this point, I don't see how that energy can permeate through the entire venue. Vic was all fan club... that's too much for this show to compete with. I wouldn't be suprised if they don't even sell all of the orchestra seats.

Hope I'm wrong though. Maybe it'd be in the best interest of the show to slow it up and go Benaroya part II.

The Beacon show will be a huge letdown....

unless of course someone wants to buy me a show ticket and a plane ticket ;)

The only Pearl Jam show that was ever a big letdown for me was Cincinnati 2003. ;) Every other one was awesome.

Yes, which could actually be good for some people. Perhaps they let some early balcony birds seep through to the bottom?
