I dont know how to explain it hahaha....90% of people carry some form of luggage ON the plane with them and you have to pay and extra $8 or $10 bucks.
Your suitcase is free that goes under the plane then yoou pay and extra 10 to take your bacbpack on and put it in the cabin above your head. All the 'sale fares' for say $29 dont include carry on luggae so you tick the box to pay an extra $8 or $10 to do so.

i always understood it as 'carry on only' for the cheapie fares - meaning you can only take carry on bags that are 10kgs or under and the size dimensions they set - nothing that needs to be checked in tho
but regardless ... we get 20kgs of luggage in the planes belly, and the carry on deal - thats the way read it ... now stop making me so parinoid
The album is (supposedly) coming out here on the 17th... there is some strange connection cause the tickets went on sale on the 17th, the album is released on the 17th and the concert (here in Adelaide) is on the 17th.... we like to think that's a lucky sign!! ;D

A few of my friends work at JB's and one in particular sits out the back and wraps and puts the stickers on incoming cd's, i'll get onto him and find out what he knows!!! usualy they come in a day earlier so he can get them into 'shelf display mode'

yeah they I do, I used to work as a storeman for myer at the melbourne cbd store, and the virgin guys would always let us know when they actually got certain albums so we could go buy them as soon as they hit the shelves and that was always the afternoon before.

When we owned our little record shop, we used to let select people buy them as soon as we received them but we couldn't scan the sale through until the day it is actually released because the sales went into a big system connected to the various labels and we could get in trouble. So I'd say places like JB Hifi etc would be connected to this same system.

for realsies. i never saw them on sale (except for 10c) and believe me, i was trying to get more tix for my friends.. i did sweet bugger all at work this morning as a result.
nothing was available from the get go. it was bizarre.

J&B Hi-Fi always breaks the embargo on new releases - especially the big ones. I expect to see Backspacer on the shelves before Friday the 18th in Oz. Maybe even the Wednesday.
