Backspacer Release methods: Talked to 10 club on phone
Hey all,
Just talked to 10 club on the phone and got the following information:
Target version: The vault shows will be old audience recordings that we may probably already have (if you are an avid show collector)
the 10 club version will contain internet only stuff that will be ongoing. Meaning I think it will have a code that will enable you excess to a special site that will continually be updated with pearl jam stuff. She did not go into detail as to what the materials would be as she isn't exactly sure right now. It will be an ongoing thing. Sounds pretty cool actually.
There you have it. Feel free to bump this so people know.
Edit: Just called again, the dowload shows will be like NYE 92 soundwise.

I wouldn't have thought the 10 Club would be sitting on a stockpile of old audience recordings. Not sure what to make of that news.___________________________________________

Me either. Maybe the poor girl was confused and meant "old shows many already have audience recordings of". Why make it an extra if we can get it now easily?0 -

I'm pretty sure this is what she meant. Sorry for the confusion.
I am going to assume that the vault shows will sound alot like the 1992 release of the NYE show with self titled. That is pretty much what I have assumed all along anyway.
If you guys want you can call them and get better clarification on it.Post edited by red mos onPJ: 10/14/00 06/09/03 10/4/09 11/15/13 11/16/13 10/08/14

I'm willing to bet they sound better than the NYE shows. That was an off the cuff treat for PJ fans, but I doubt crappy bootleg copies are going to sweeten a deal with Target... they don't want pissed off customers and that's what they'd get. My guess would be that the options are the old radio broadcast shows... it would be easy for them to produce decent quality copies of those gigs and they're widely bootlegged so it would fit with the statement that most people already have recordings of them. So it makes it a cool bonus for the Target crowd because many of those gigs are legendary and will sound pretty good, but probably not of interest to serious collectors. But think about it really... old shows people already have audience recordings of... isn't that basically every PJ show in existence if you're a diehard collector? What shows are people expecting to hear that aren't already easily available if you're a dedicated trader?
How many shows did they do broadcasts for?
Atlanta 94, Melbourne 95, Soldier Field 95, Berlin 96, Melbourne 98... that's 5... Pinkpop 92?0 -
Cool! But how does one who doesn't have a Target shop in their province (Nova Scotia) get those downloads .. from Target?

Very cool!!
Thanks for taking the trouble and having the guts to call 10c... glad they were willing to give you some information!
And we get to have it for cheaper than the target version too - someone here found a link that it would cost 30 dollars or something like that for pre-ordering backspacer CD... there was a discussion going on and I was feeling hmm about the difference between versions..... but shouldn't have doubted 10c one bit!! *slaps self*
I heart Ten Club!JA: Why do I get the Ticketmaster question?
EV: It's your band.
