As much as I think Courtney is a complete tool, I have to agree with this comment. I was so disappointed with the Nirvana version after hearing Hole's take on it
Nirvana's version is so much better it isn't funny.

anybody think it would suck if Nirvana made it in and PJ doesn't? that's a bigger question

i don't see that happening. they'll both make it in.

Well what can I say other than that I whole-heartedly disagree. I prefer it acoustic, I love the cello and harp - they give the song a really cool vibe, in my opinion. Maybe I'm biased because this is the first version of it I knew.......
  • Nirvana's inevitable induction into the hall of fame in 2012
bleach was released in 89 so induction would be 2014 at the earliest.

They formed in early 1987 and played their first show as "Nirvana" in March 1988. Does this not count?
  • there is no way Dave and Krist would play with Courtney Love.

They should do what RUN DMC did this year and not play.

Which is what will probably happen. Although I still maintain Mark Lanegan would do a great job on some of their songs. Plus he was a good friend of Kurt's, so I wouldn't count it out.

It's 25 years from when the bands first album is released.

Courtney said in an interview years ago that she offered Mark Lanegan one of Kurt's unrecorded songs and he said he didn't want to record it. It would seem unlikely that he'd sing with them as he knows it would have an effect on Kurt's legacy (he knows there would be too many haters, whether we like it or not!)

You know what, that would be pretty amazing.

And I'll repeat what someone else said - so far, they haven't reunited as "Nirvana" with any other singer/guitarist since Kurt's death. I really have respect for them because of that, because there must be so much pressure on them to cash in on the name. Sublime's lead singer/guitarist died, and a few months ago they "reunited" with a new guy on vocals/guitar. Sublime wasn't nearly as popular as Nirvana, nor had as large an impact, but they reunited anyway.

I dont think they should and will play. They deserve to be in the hall of fame obviously but not every band is like Alice in Chains and wants to hire a new guy to replace the lead singer.

I alctually would be pissed if they played, just Krist and Dave, or Dave Krist and some other guy.

Kurt in many ways, was and remains Nirvana. When he died the band was never going to reform. And it never will reform.

When Nirvana is inducted, they will show some clips of the band in action from the archives, someone will give a speech, Krist and Dave will speak, and that will be it.

Some bands are meant to reform and reunite. Nirvana died April 1994.

I totally agree.....with the exception of the "Krist talking" part

Honestly, Eddie Vedder would be the only person for that job. I honestly think he's the only person Dave and Krist would ever consider doing it with. I seriously doubt Eddie would do it though, so no reunion.

Maybe they could get the Meat Puppets and do the songs they did on Unplugged.

That would be really cool, I think that's something Kurt would appreciate.

bleh, false idols. Nirvana isn't sacred, they wrote songs about beans, hairspray, and moist vaginas.

I think hearing Mark Arm or Michael Stipe covering Nirvana would be really cool.

Or maybe the Vaselines and the Meat Puppets could do something

Why? He's about the last person I'd expect to ever be considered to fill in.
