i just think that if you push it towards show time and the touts have some left you can crack a deal right there. Your just taking a gamble on them actually notb having sold out on the day.

I was outside Bruce Springsteen in 2006 and they were selling £60 tickets for £10. maybe even lower. But then again that was a cricket ground!!!

The problem I'd have with buying from a tout outside the venue would be knowing if the tickets were fake or not. I was there when some guy decked a tout outside the Astoria after he got refused entry with a ticket he'd bought off him...

well you could march the twat to the front door with you!!!!

It is possible I guess that its not the touts creating the fakes, its people who hate them who target them with spares that are fakes

I agree with what you are both saying, cheers guys. I just think because it's a small gig, it will be a lot of money but come 9pm when the show is underway, I may get lucky. Got to think long and hard though to whether I will go down on the day.
    :D Rock on!!!! :D
Seen Pearl Jam 4 times in London, once in Manchester, as well as an Eddie show at Hammersmith.

If you're in London anyway, I don't see how you've got much to lose by giving it a go...
If I knew where it was, I would take you there...

I'll definitely be trolling around the venue hoping for one at a reasonable price. Depends on how much Cider I've drunk as to how high I will go on the night.

I agree, I may do, but there will be so many other fans down there on the look out for tickets too. The touts can more or less name their price until show time - and how many will still be hanging around then?

I'm down in Worthing and would need to take the train up... usually takes me a couple of hours in total. I'd say I'm on the border of whether it's worth it or not to travel ticketless :? Dunno what to do, my missus said it's a stupid idea.

There still seems to be a lot of people trying to sell these on ebay unsuccessfully at high prices, so I really see there being a good deal to be had on the day if anyone gets real desperate

Did you see the one from a 'TRUE FAN' wanting another true fan to be able to get to the gig?? At the moment £300 worth of 'true' fan....

2006, more like 2003 if it was outside a cricket ground! I saw him in Manchester in 2003 at the Old Trafford cricket ground, great show, and due to the cheapness of tickets on eBay went to London beforehand, saw the 2 gigs at Crystal Palace (shithole) for the total of £20!

Worth it though for Detroit Medley, Racing In The Street and Meeting > Jungleland.

I can't believe how long ago it is now either.

  • Good idea about the lottery draw, gets my vote.

Ames - on the first post of this thread it says...

bold name = confirmed that they are still in need of a ticket after the general sale.

    but also...

Anyone who has not been confirmed, and is therefore in bold on the list, by Wednesday 29th will be remved

So I don't know whether I should be bold or not, but either way I definitely DO need a ticket!

Sorry mate, missed out a 'not' in there! To clarify, bold is confirmed and will be included in the draw :)

    AD

Thanks Ames. I want to say good luck to everyone but given there is only one spare I'm hoping all the luck goes my way!

    Just an idea Downstroke...

When you draw out the names/numbers later this week, may be a good idea to do two or three reserves just in case. If the winner of the ticket somehow gets one, it can go to the next person and so on.

I know the odds of this are about as likely as finding a happy Parisian but you never know.

What a brilliant gesture, and hugely appreciated by all I am sure. Ames?
If I knew where it was, I would take you there...

I've been offered 2 tickets from someone on facebook (not a friend, just someone from a Pearl Jam group). He wants £100 each which I'm happy to pay but I'm thinking it's just too good to be true. Apparantly they are
e-tickets from ticketweb. He's offering to show me email confirmation plus his ID but surely he could print the email off over and over again and be selling them to loads of different people. I don't know what to do! Terrified of losing £200 but more terrified of missing the show! Advice please!!
