Springsteen to play philly spectrum on 10/31?

Yeah the dead hold the record for sold out shows at the spectrum... With billy joel as a second I believe. But that's not what I'm saying. I'm saying that The Dead were the last to play JFK before they tore it down... And they are not considered 'philly' as say Bruce or dare I say it, bon jovi, so it's not unheard of for a non 'Philly' band to close the place down. So I think there's a strong chance PJ will be the last to play the spectrum.metsfan wrote:yea the dead have played there like 55 times or so. sure theres a deadhead on here that can confirm the exact amount."I'm not present, I'm a drug that makes you dream"0 -

Has he had an Michael Jackson, Elvis or Jim Morrison sightings either? As a matter of fact, I just thought I saw E.T phoning home on his cell from my backyard...
Wow, this is going to be one hell of a show on Halloween!!!
Hey is that Michael Jackson moonwalking on the moon or is this 1969 and Buzz is back????
I love all of these rumors..
Did you hear the one that Jimmy Hoffa is buried under the spectrum...or even funnier.. Miss Cleo is predicting that Donovan McNabb is going to lead the Eagles to a win in the Superbowl this year!!!
I heard Kelly Kapowski confirmed the Saved By The Bell Reunion and Jimmy Fallon is gonna host it at The Spectrum to close it out on the 31st....I just sayin', thats what I heard.0 -

My sister works at Bayside high school and she is confirming this too. I also called Bayside High School and the guy who answered the phone told me he wasn't allowed to say, but I should keep my fingers crossed. He also told me they would be selling VIP tickets for the event for $225. It includes a buffet and a special gift from the SBTB cast!1996: Randall's Island 2 1998: East Rutherford | MSG 1 & 2 2000: Cincinnati | Columbus | Jones Beach 1, 2, & 3 | Boston 1 | Camden 1 & 2 2003: Philadelphia | Uniondale | MSG 1 & 2 | Holmdel 2005: Atlantic City 1 2006: Camden 1 | East Rutherford 1 & 2 2008: Camden 1 & 2 | MSG 1 & 2 (#25) | Newark (EV) 2009: Philadelphia 1, 2 & 4 2010: Newark | MSG 1 & 2 2011: Toronto 1 2013: Wrigley Field | Brooklyn 2 | Philadelphia 1 & 2 | Baltimore 2015: Central Park 2016: Philadelphia 1 & 2 | MSG 1 & 2 | Fenway Park 2 | MSG (TOTD) 2017: Brooklyn (RnR HOF) 2020: MSG | Asbury Park 2021: Asbury Park 2022: MSG | Camden | Nashville 2024: MSG 1 & 2 (#50) | Philadelphia 1 & 2 | Baltimore 2025: Raleigh 20 -
Pearl Jam is a done deal for the 31st. It will be announced next week. :geek:I Know All The Rules But The Rules Do Not Know Me.0

of course this would be a fanstastic bill,
but , who would open for who?
Bruce doesnt " open up " for anyone,
and its been a long time since he has had an opener, besides the festivals of late ,
or a multi- band Bonaroo type of thing,
Bruce gets very pissed at the crowds " Bruuuuuceing " the opening act(s)- so he eliminates that anymore
and finally the E Street Band is slated to say farewell to Spectrum 2 weeks prior to PJ appearing-
so logistically that presents a problem .For the ones who had a notion, a notion deep inside

By your thinking, a proper way to close the Spectrum would be Balboa/Creed III.2000: Camden 1, 2003: Philly, State College, Camden 1, MSG 2, Hershey, 2004: Reading, 2005: Philly, 2006: Camden 1, 2, East Rutherford 1, 2007: Lollapalooza, 2008: Camden 1, Washington D.C., MSG 1, 2, 2009: Philly 1, 2, 3, 4, 2010: Bristol, MSG 2, 2011: PJ20 1, 2, 2012: Made In America, 2013: Brooklyn 2, Philly 2, 2014: Denver, 2015: Global Citizen Festival, 2016: Philly 2, Fenway 1, 2018: Fenway 1, 2, 2021: Sea. PJ would open for Bruce , just as they did for the Rolling Stones on 9/28/05. As Ed said, " he's the boss, I'm just an employee"."Buy the ticket,take the ride"

Well, that seems very unlikely now ever since he was busted with HGH at an Australian airport a couple of years back that forced the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the Screen Actors Guild to overturned the uplifting, feel-good endings of Rocky II, III, and IV.
