Get Right is one of the more generic 3 minute filler rockers they've ever done. Help Help is ok, but it makes me think of Pilate... it has nice moments but it feels like something is missing overall to make it truly great. The verses are so subdued, the chorus falls a little short, but they both have that cool breakdown ("stunned by my own reflection" and the "man i call my enemy"). There's just a little too much restraint in these tunes.
i love "Help, Help". it stood out for me the first time that i heard Riot Act, and it still does. "Get Right" is ok, but i find myself skipping it a lot unless i haven't heard it in a long time.
The biggest mistake in Pearl Jams career is not playing Help Help live. It's a good song on Riot Act, it's a GREAT song on the live bootlegs.
The ending of it is great, with Eddie "screaming" the words.
It "suffers" from the "Jeff Ament" lyrics syndrome though, just adding a bunch of random lines , one after the other. Not as strong as Eddies or Stones lyrics imo.
But when he gets the lines right they are really strong, like the ending in Help Help.

Love Whale Song!
I agree; never understood all the hate for that song. Different strokes, I suppose.
help help is totally under rated
good song
I wish they played it live more often, that jam at the end would sound great live

And now you're going to attack 'Ghost'? Fuck that! I'm dying to hear that live (after hearing the Mansfield '03 boot with it).
get right is pretty average but i wouldn't go so far as to call it a stinker

Get Right is o.k. It just seems like they could have done more with that song.
Get Right is average but it's not horrible...
And I actually like Ghost too...
Not my favorite stuff but it's certainly not horrible, imo, of course.
"get right" rules. Who said it was generic? There is nothing generic about Matt's songs.
