That is great idea.
On the No Doubt tour this summer I joined the fan club to get good tickets. We lined up to pick up the tickets on the day of the show. The fan club staff were set up on tables. The tickets had your name printed on them and they escorted you right into the venue. You could not leave once you were in.
For all of their (10C) anti-scalper talk, which is great, they aren't going the extra mile.Post edited by Flagg onDAL-7/5/98,10/17/00,6/9/03,11/15/13

their called "Flash Tickets" AC/DC only offered Flash tickets for their tour last year to help prevent it.
Its up to the artist to request and enforce this as well as the venue having the capable technology to be able to handle it.
I would say that Seattle and the Spectrum do not have it because they do not have the revenue in the arena that is generated by an NBA team. Almost all NBA team arenas have the flash ticket technology in place except for a select few (NOLA, Memphis)0 -

[quote="benjsThat's what I'm saying though - Ticketsnow is Ticketmaster's own "resale" website, so they could theoretically sell access to seats to Ticketsnow, and Ticketsnow could theoretically utilize the paperless ticket method as well, but no other scalping company could.[/quote]
You cant sell access to seats...then a representative from Ticketsnow would have to buy the tickets..meet you at the venue...sit next to you and yours...buy you a pretzel and a soda...and make small talk..not happening my friendShows:

If you do not have your credit card and government-issued ID in hand at the event, you will not gain access to the event. No exceptions will be made. Hey if it works for Miley why not our boys!
that's a VERY cool idea!
however, would that not mean that every single ticket for a show can never be resold? ALL sales are final, period? i mean, i do understand the rationale and overall support it....but for a lot of people, sometimes life gets in the way, and a show they bought tix for months ago, now they cannot attend. i understand it with our 10c tix, but idk if i truly think it's right for ALL tickets. i mean, someone dies, or you get sick, or you have an unforeseem business trip, kid's soccer game, whatever....i think for regular tix you should be able to pass em on to someone else.Stay with me...

Then the venue has to be able to refund your money and resell the tickets..thats the trade off..basically scalpers make up for 90% of the resell..thats my guess...10% are good people who just cant goShows:

oh well if that's the case, that does help enormously. sure, there may be some who still might not be able to get down the venue for a refund, but it definitely improves the #s of those who won't lose their $$$. although it does cut out the possibility of just giving away your tickets, but maybe they can do that at the box office too, idk. i guess there's always a way around things.
however, for the 10c, it would be perfect just as is!Stay with me...
