    Why should we honor a child molester???? That's the big deal about a Michael Jackson stamp

    That does not concern me.....his actions only speak of guilt....this is my view as a former victim of child molestation and whining about what was said and done in court is not going to change my mind....as to his music, I can't stand it......have never liked it.

    The guy is guilty of being weird and putting himself in situations where it would appear he was a child molestor. However, he wasn't convicted. I'm with you though. Homer Simpson, James Dean, Elvis, Marilyn Monroe, and Frank Sinatra. All of these people have been graced the stamp. All of them, yes...even Homer, have some questionable times in their life.

    Personally... i don't care either way. I will concede Michael Jackson's talent as an entertainer... although i don't care for Pop Music (the only record of his I ever had was the first Jackson 5 album... actually, it was my sister's record)... and I ain't no dancer.
    As for U.S. postage stamps... as someone previously noted, Elvis is on a stamp... so is Darth Vader. A stamp is used to get your electric bill paid... it is not some sort of religious symbol.

    I believe there once rules about being honored on a stamp....he's met the first criteria...he's dead. There might be a time limit similar to go into a sports hall of fame....something like five years dead or some such, of course that could have changed....I'm trying to remember the gap between Reagen's and Nixon's deaths and the time before they were on a stamp.

    his interactions with children were unacceptable for any adult ,You think an average white male or black would get away with sleeping in the same bed with kids that weren't there's ? Yeah right.

    I watched as much as I could yesterday without throwing up. It was nothing but a bunch of grandstanding IMO.
    I thought Al Sharpton was talking about MLK for god's sake.


    It just illustrates how fuckin crazy this whole world has become. Remember the same people in the media extolling him yesterday were the same one giving his child molestation trial 24/7 coverage and after he was found not guilty ,the media didnt exactly elevate him to hero status did they ?

    that is definitely a little ironic. that is definitely not the way to let things go away.

    if king keeps bashing mj every day i wonder how long it will be before he gets criticized for picking the wrong battle at the wrong time.

    over the last 30 years across the entire world very few entertainers have sold more records and entertained and brought joy to more people with their music than mj. in that respect i say give the man his stamp. if you don't like it, simply buy a damn purple heart or liberty bell forever stamp instead. problem solved.

    It's a freaking resolution...we aren't building a shrine to the guy or anything with taxpayer dollars. Do you have any idea on how many of these sort of resolutions go through the Congress every year?
