Futureheads were actually worse, a fairly large part of the audience actually cheered when they announced their last song.. Poor dudes..
Gomez sounds interesting, they have a cool sound.
Futureheads were DREADFUL. Liked their cover of Hounds of Love. Didnt like that all their other songs sounded the same as it.
Poor Paddy Casey, He introduced his first song as "this will be your favourite song of mine"... which seemed pretty arrogant. But then he introduced his other 5 or 6 songs after that with "you'll like this song even less than the last one". Very subtle, pretty funny, and completely true. He thanked us for tolerating him cos is was clear that we just wanted PJ. ( i even knew Paddy Casey before and liked his first album, but my god,he was just so out of place at a PJ show!! )
Get Myself Arrested by Gomez is such a great party song.
I really really like Robert Pollard opening in Pittsburgh. It got me tuned into his and GBV music.

Who is Gomez?????? Just a band that I buy full cds worth of music by. Their latest, A New Tide, is pretty solid, having three songs I really, really like, "Mix," "Natural Reaction," and "Airstream Driver." I would say that I'd wish they'd open for PJ in North America, but since the chances of PJ coming anywhere near where I'd be willing to travel to are approximately the same as Pearl Jam performing on an ice floe in the middle of Chesapeake Bay tomorrow, I guess the best I can do is wish that Gomez make a diversion of Denver this July and go a bit south. But, anyway, Gomez is pretty good. They've put out pretty good albums in the last few years, and have put out some outstanding songs that I personally rank as among my favorite of all time. If you haven't given them a twirl, you really should treat yourself.
Gomez are pants, the singer thinks he's Eddie!!! Pearl Jam don't really ever have decent support acts, i seen them in Lisbon with My Morning Jacket which was decent........but Gomez run of the mill, boring, out of date wannabes. I take it there wont be much people on here who agree with me who know them, but for the people who dont , trust my judgement. :(

As for Gomez, they're great. Seen them 3 times now so it'll be good to see a band support PJ who I'd see on their own anyway.
