This thread is to judge the best album names (not the music on the album). Ready, set, go!

(top being best)

Vitalogy
VS
Binaural
No Code
Riot Act
Backspacer
Yield
Ten
Pearl Jam (putting this one last because it's the least creative, just being their name)

I was wondering whether to count that. PJ doesn't list it as one of their albums on their website, so I didn't.

If I look at the names completely separate from anything else, as if these were the names for any other rock band's albums. Which is the strongest then? Personally I think Vs, Yield and Riot Act sound best.

However, I think when voting on which album name is the best, the quality of the music shouldn't matter, but one might consider the name's connection with the theme and the concept of the album. Ten is ok, ten hands, ten the number of mookie. Vs as in 5 vs 1, band vs world. Interesting. Vitalogy had a great concept and theme. How ignorant is man? How we have evolved, and how we have not. Yet from a casual fan's point of view, the title might seem rather quirky or meaningless. No Code is a very interesting name, for an interesting concept and theme. Even the name is a code, for an album and concept filled with them. Yield has a strong message and theme right from the very beginning. Yield to nature. Binaural is a very to the point and relevant title, but perhaps not very deep? I at least immediately think of Binaural recordings. The title Riot Act screams meaning, although you might be disappointed with the lack of connection to the concept art, and not get the theme on first listening. Pearl Jam is a cool band name, but as an album name, no. Backspacer I can't tell yet, but may have to do with erasing what PJ thinks of as bad things in the world and in politics. Turning back the clock to better times.

    Based on names alone:

    Yield
    Riot Act
    VS
    No Code
    Backspacer
    Vitalogy
    Binaural
    Ten
    Pearl Jam
