my favorite current writers include fabian nicieza, dna, ed brubaker and peter david.
was into nova & guardians of the galaxy big time, but i haven't read much since secret invasion began. i also regularly read captain america, x-factor, daredevil and hulk (until the end of wwh). obviously i'm a marvel fanboy. i'm on hiatus from reading comics, as i felt it was taking up way too much of my time and thought capacity. i'll play catch-up eventually though, and be the biggest geek ever.
I'm a big X-Men fan. I don't really have a favourite write, But I really enjoyed Joss Whedons series of 'Astonishing'. To be honest I never pay attention to the names much. I guess I should. I recently started reading Lucifer and Judge Dredd though. Very different obviously, but both are very good. Next on my list is to go back and read Sandman by Gaiman.
Most of the DC line, a handful of Vertigo titles, a couple of Wildstorm titles, three or four Avatar titles, some from Dynamite, the Star Trek stuff from IDW, Conan, Kull and Solomon Kane from Dark Horse and even some of Marvel's better titles
Favorite writers include Geoff Johns, Jason Aaron, Warren Ellis, Garth Ennis, Rick Veitch, Mark Waid, Dave Sim, Alan Moore
Favorite artists include George Perez, Howard Chaykin, Dave Sim, Barry Kitson, Phil Jimenz, Adam Hughes and many more.
All the world will be your enemy, Prince with a thousand enemies, and whenever they catch you, they will kill you. But first they must catch you, digger, listener, runner, prince with the swift warning. Be cunning and full of tricks and your people shall never be destroyed.
i was really big into xmen and spiderman. especially the maximum carnage series. i had all of them
but
i lost all of my comics
had hundreds...just vanished
all thats left is a full set of marvel metal cards

Can't go wrong with the Sandman run by Gaiman. :ugeek:

Some of my favs too...also add Grant Morrison to the list. Unfortunately, I quit reading comics cold turkey about 6-7 years ago bc I was spending $60-$80 per week on my books! Since I don't have the ability to cut back, I had to cut out. Sad really, because so much of what I was buying was fluff...variants, one-shots, minis...that all sucked ass anyway. If only I could control myself, I could've cut my expense in half and I'd still be enjoying some great reads! To go back now would be like opening a pandoras box to buying EVERY back-issue of everything I missed out on. :(

Loved reading the chris claremont stuff growing up his run with x-men in the 70's through 80's is why i became and still am a comic geek.
I'm looking forward to checking out Y the last man standing soon
I loved the Preacher series, and am toying with diving into Sandman sometime soon. Just started reading graphic novels very recently.
Garth Ennis, the writer of Preacher, has done a number of war comics over the years for DC and now Dynamite...all have been well worth my time, effort and $$$$.....the DC books are collected into either two editions or one (I read the original comics)....and the Dynamite books are still coming out....if anyone needs more details...just holler

Never heard of them, I'll look into them. I know he did Hellblazer (the series that inspired the movie Constantine) and want to check that out too. Something about those Irish authors... so much piss and vinegar, I love it!

Alan Moore actually created the Constantine character back during his run on Swamp-Thing, but yes...Garth has a noted run on the character's actual series.....here's some info on the War Stories:
