the drama of a fascist environment.
bottom line, do your job. and do it well. they can't touch you , if you bring the right attitude. they need a reason to fire you, and drama isn't good enough. you can do whatever you want, as long as your labor is productive. the law protects you in this regard.
in fact, its your boss who is slipping on her job. if she's so worried about drama and bs, she's not being productive. I would talk to her boss, tell them you can do her job better, and tell them why. if she's more focussed on drama than productivity, then she's fucking up. go above her., take her job. then go jogging or whatever it is you want to do with the other employee.
I used to work in a restaurant, very high end restaurant...and one night a sous chef want off on me, for no reason. -its already an extremely stressful environment, hard work. but he took me aside and went off on me. dude was pissed. for no reason though. it was because he didn't like me. had nothing to do with my labor. So i fucking ripped into him. the entire kitchen heard the exchange. for me it wasn't about being right or anything. he was trying to establish his bullshit authority, and for me it was about defending my labor, which i was very good at. i ended up telling him to fuckoff, to his face. loud enough for the entire kitchen staff to hear. and he got fired the next day.
If you're doing your job, and doing it well, that's the bottom line. the rest is bullshit.0 -
