I would really like the closest possible place that is still available..thx
Conversations getting dull
There's a constant ringing in my ears
Sense of humor's void and numb
And I'm bored to tears.......

we're staying with friends, but last year we stayed at Homewood Suites. there are some great deals in Round Rock & the drive isn't bad at all from there into downtown.

You want to be as close to 6th street as you can afford. The actual festival is a little outside of the downtown area, but the party after the show is on 6th street. There is a bus that goes to and from the venue right downtown, not far from 6th street.

Because I'm a cheapa$$ I'm staying at the Super 8 on 12th street.... But if you don't mind spending the doh there are a lot of nicer hotels right downtown just off of 6th that are perfect.
Houston, Texas... Believe it or not, there are 7 million people here... must be a couple of fans who'd love to see you play.

I'll offer this suggestion: If you are legally able to drink without a fake ID, stay off of 6th Street. There are some really, really cool bars in Austin. But none of them are on 6th.

If frat brothers vomiting on you and calling you "bro" is your thing, 6th Street is the place for you! Fourth Street is better, but even that is starting to turn into 6th Street Jr.

Anybody else wants any Austin info, hit me up ... Definitely my neck of the woods.

West 6th is cool these days (Annies West, J. Blacks, The Ranch, Molotov, etc...). I agree, stay away from the main part of 6th.
This show, another show, a show here and a show there.

Ima look into this Ive been searching online for an hour and found some really crappy places for no less than $70 or really nice hotels for a shit load of money,I don't think i've had these many issues to find a hotel before.

Edit: Damn that 50 or 60 rate is gone, Friday and Saturday at their cheapest is $119 per night :S
