No rear stage in Chicago?

On Ticketmaster, the seating map now indicates that rear stage seats won't be sold for the shows at the United Center in Chicago.

Anybody know why this is?

Pretty sure that there are quite a few Chicagoans who would be willing to pay the reasonable price of $66 plus fees to sit rear stage at a Pearl Jam concert (in fact I am wondering why the band didn't just play Soliders Field). Maybe the band is going to use screens/effects that will block off the rear stage? Anyway, I am mystified.

They used a back drop last year. Dunno how long they've had that. I'm glad there's not seat behind the stage.

Don't be mystified - this CLEARLY just means that the show will be 99.9% full of 10C members, will be a five hour show, and Pearl Jam band members will sign autographs for every person in the crowd. It's really pretty obvious

You're right, I didn't think of it that way. Certainly 10C members weren't going to be seated rear stage, so this means that there truly were no tickets made available to the general public. Thanks for confirming and I look forward to hearing Ghost/Cropduster in the 80+ song selection that Pearl Jam gives us in Chi-Town August 23-24!

80+? Don't you think you're setting these expectations pretty low? I've heard they're doing at least 70 each night. I've also heard they've got a full-time residency at the United Center until the night before Outside Lands. And I heard they'll be playing Lost Dogs from beginning to end every night.

I wouldn't doubt that some of what you are saying is true -- they recorded lots of No Code in Chicago and it is one of Ed's hometowns, so don't be surprised to see PJ set up home base for a while in the Windy City this summer. Not to speculate or anything . . .
