This is a romantic love song. Not even remotely appropriate for a father-daughter dance."Goddamn Romans. Sure know how to make a ... drum room." --Matt Cameron0 -
I'm very far away from getting married, but I've definitely thought about this before. One thing I know for sure is that the last song played at the reception will be Ledbetter. That seems like it would be a great way to end the night, just like a PJ show!0

We used Ben Harper's 'Forever' too and Parachutes.Auck - Feb 28, 98

Hey Foxymophandlemama, That's Me0

My wife walked down the isle to Eddie's 'Toulumme' followed by Picture in a Frame
Was very cool...0 -
My wife walked down the aisle to LV 2000 "Can't help falling in love" and our first dance was to "Thin Air". It has a nice beat, but not so suitable for father/daughter moment...0

I walked down the aisle to Metallica's "Nothing Else Matters", our first dance was Jack Johnson's "Better Together", if we'd have hung around for the end of the reception, it would have had to end with Yellow Ledbetter. I fully support this recommendation.Nashville-00

not sure this is appropriate for father / daughter either ...
now ... for a first dance, I think it would work"You're one of the few Red Sox fans I don't mind." - Newch91
"I don't believe in damn curses. Wake up the damn Bambino and have me face him. Maybe I'll drill him in the ass." --- Pedro Martinez0 -
OceansI knew all the rules...but the rules did not know me0

Haha I didn't see the "dad" part of the first post...d'oh! I thougth she meant first dance..."I'll ride the wave,Where it takes me, I'll hold the pain, Release me"
"I'm not about to give thanks or appologize"
"Caught a bolt of lighting, cursed the day he let it go"0 -
I think Dirty Frank or Blood would be appropriate - but seriously, at my wedding, we danced to can't help falling in love with you (vegas show cover) and we also had the Betterman instrumental version play as we walked in.....my thoughts0

with a slow dance with your dad... i would go with... you'v got to hide your love away (EV) I just like that song
with your new husband... (not last kiss) I think...throw your arms around me? (ev again) just my suggestions..
London Astoria - Dublin - Wembley - Shepherds Bush - London 020 -
I used "Around the Bend" as my first dance when I got married.....the marriage lasted six months.0

I don't think any Pearl jam song really suits a first dance, but if any probably Thin Air - after all it's about young love and the quest your taking on together as it states in the lyrics.
For the above reason, Yellow ledbetter was the last song at my wedding, we all loved it, those last few guitar riffs were the perfect end to the evening.London 29-10-96, London 29/30-5-00, London 20-4-06, Reading 27-8-06, London 18-6-07, London 11-8-09, London 18-8-09, London 25-6-10, Berlin 30-6-10 / PJ20 3/4-9-11, Manchester 20-6-12, Amsterdam 26/27-6-12, EV-London 30/31-7-12, EV-Orlando 27-11-120 -
I used Thin Air for my song and it was a huge hit. I also used Throw Your Arms Around Me for our final dance of the night.0
