Let the Right One In

I haven't seen the Theatrical sub titled version of this, it was the controversial Region 1 version with apparently dumbed down titles but a seeing I have no form of reference to compare I can only say that sub titles or not, nothing can ruin this stunning film from working it's magic over me.
Beautifully acted, stunning cinematography and inspired Direction. It seems unfair to tag this just a Vampire/Horror film, it transcends those genre confines not unlike that other Horror masterpiece The Exorcist.
Beautifully formed performances of Hederbrant and Leandersson mark this out as not just a vampire film but a touching relationship played out by these two leads which is interrupted by some shocking moments of horror and terror but nothing that detracts from the story and perfectly complements these touching moments.
The horrifying climatic sequence which is made all the more effective with the real horror being played out off camera. It puts to shame the majority of Hollywood fare and makes the planned UK remake utterly redundant.
Thoroughly recommended and a film that will stay with you long after the credits have rolled.

The thing I really like about films like this, as alluded to above, everything isn't so over the top, or blatantly obvious. It doesn't treat the audience like morons and have to spell out every little detail. The true mark of a great horror flick is what you DON'T see that scares you ... not what you DO see ... and this one is top notch in that department.
Lots going on with this film, you'll be talking about it for hours after you see it.
Yet another ... "highly recommended"

I personally loved the final 15 minutes of it. I just couldn't believe it
I already am apprehensive about the 'american' remake version. It's so insulting to attempt to remake this when the Swedish version was so perfect.
First PJ Show: March 20, 1994 | Ann Arbor | Crisler Arena
I feel compelled to watch it when it comes out, but, have have little to no hope of this being anywhere near the brilliance of the Swedish version.
I guess the guy who directed Cloverfield, Matt Reeves, is directing it.
