eh, with two EV shows in my hand, I'm still a lil' bummed, but yeah, I feel for the heartland! No wait a minute, those bastards are right in the middle of it all!!!!

It's the Antarticans I really feel for ... soo cold.

(the "quite telling" is that this is you know, kinda sorta ... a rationalization. "Oh I'm cool with it! I don't need a PJ show... I got Ed!" If you had only ONE last concert to attend? c'mon -- PJ over EV.)

I for one am VERY stoked to see Ed play alone, no dilution of his passion for what he is sharing. PJ is the BEST band I'll ever see but Ed IS a god when it comes to the art of rock and even though the full band won;t be there, the other 1835 ppl that will see his first bona fide solo gig may just see first hand how talented he really is

Agreed--I've seen PJ many times. I've seen EV do an entire solo show zero times.

well have plenty of time for ed solo as he becomes closer to neil young in age. As a full band with all members on board has less shelf life. ed will do solo stuff for the rest of his life but PJ wont last as long. thats what i think at least.

Not trying to rub it in...I just think Ed's Into the Wild tour will be very special. RIGHT NOW I'd rather see Ed solo. Obviously no knock on PJ. If you east coasters can't admit that, you're just being stubborn. Most of us have and will see PJ many times. An official Ed tour in small theatres...I think will be a pretty rare occurance. I can see why those on the east coast could be offended by this...but I'm just telling it like it is. If Ed was doing a solo tour on the east coast I'd admit I was jealous. I didn't mean to put down the east coast tour. I'm sure the PJ shows will be awesome too. Don't be so sensitive.

I'll be honest. I would like to see Ed live on his solo tour, but if I had a choice, it's PJ all the way. Now, I'm not saying that PJ's announcement to play on the east coast takes anything away from the west coast solo tour. I'm just saying that I enjoy the band as a whole rather than just Ed.

Now, what I would be jealous of is if Ed decided to cover "Mankind." That would be well worth the price of admission.

Don't understand why anyone would rather see Ed solo.

Have to put in my whine about his "West Coast" Tour though. How many states are on the west coast and how many is he playing?

It will be a very special experience, nobody can deny that. Its also going to be a gigantic tease.

All of his US west coast shows are in 1 state, so that is hardly a tour of the west coast.

I'm seeing him in Vancouver, but I'd trade those tickets in a heartbeat for a full band show.

  • Eddie is a good frontman. FRONTMAN. I dont think Ed solo is that special. It's cool to see him do his pre-sets but Pearl Jam is better together.
    Same way with the Beatles.

I'm sorry but it does sound like you are trying to rub it in a little bit.
(little bit, a little bit : in the voice Robert DeNiro in Goodfellas)

I am sincerely happy for everyone lucky enough to get into these Ed solo shows, I think these will be some magically intimate performances. I seriously considered flying out for these shows. I tried to get 10Club tickets, I failed, I took it as an omen and decided to move on without even trying ticketmaster, I just hoped that Ed would announce some East Coast gigs later.
So since I wasn't going to Bonnaroo and wasn't partically expecting shows this year I naturally got pretty excited when they announced that PJ would be playing the most famous arena in the world Madison Square Garden again. I think a lot of us got a little excited (little bit). Some of us remember shaking that building in 2003 and that experience is plenty worth being excited for.

This isn't a contest, it's just love & music. Have fun in Cali and for God's sake... ..Tapers, TAPE!!!
