Agreed--I've seen PJ many times. I've seen EV do an entire solo show zero times.

I'll take the ed solo preset with the full band show any day.

ev solo wouldn't hold a candle to full band

Sure but this isn't an all or nothing choice.

EV solo is maybe a once in a life time opportunity--I have seen, and will see, PJ play many more times before I die.

    I'm psyched either way.

I think if I had a choice this summer I would take the Eddie Solo, but can't be certain. It is rare and interesting, and different.

I have no choice being in LA. My two buddies however are flying in from Boston and D.C.

They get their Cake and Eat it too.

    Dirty Bastards. lol.

As the original poster said. Everyone on the Coasts should be happy. I know I would be either way.

I'm still in total shock at this announcement!!!

I cant believe I'm seeing Ed in 11 days and the whole band in less than 3 months... that's just crazy!!! :D

eh, with two EV shows in my hand, I'm still a lil' bummed, but yeah, I feel for the heartland! No wait a minute, those bastards are right in the middle of it all!!!!

It's the Antarticans I really feel for ... soo cold.

(the "quite telling" is that this is you know, kinda sorta ... a rationalization. "Oh I'm cool with it! I don't need a PJ show... I got Ed!" If you had only ONE last concert to attend? c'mon -- PJ over EV.)

Whatever. Ed solo is like wiffle ball compared to us east coasters getting the full on hook up.

i think she's trying to say the west coasters are jealous the easterners are getting the "full treatment"(whole band) and are trying to front by saying an Ed solo show is more special.

    i could be wrong,but i don't think so.

Meh, Eddie could break out some Into the Wild songs if he wants. Maybe a preset, maybe during the more mellow part of the set. Good enough for me.

It is hands down PJ if it was an either or for a last show.

Pearl Jam wins in a landslide. Lucky for us we will probably be able to see PJ until they are 20 years past Uncle Neil's age.

Eddie solo? You never know if he will tour like this again so I'm ever so slightly happier to attend his solo show this summer.

    But overall no contest.

I for one am VERY stoked to see Ed play alone, no dilution of his passion for what he is sharing. PJ is the BEST band I'll ever see but Ed IS a god when it comes to the art of rock and even though the full band won;t be there, the other 1835 ppl that will see his first bona fide solo gig may just see first hand how talented he really is

well have plenty of time for ed solo as he becomes closer to neil young in age. As a full band with all members on board has less shelf life. ed will do solo stuff for the rest of his life but PJ wont last as long. thats what i think at least.

Not trying to rub it in...I just think Ed's Into the Wild tour will be very special. RIGHT NOW I'd rather see Ed solo. Obviously no knock on PJ. If you east coasters can't admit that, you're just being stubborn. Most of us have and will see PJ many times. An official Ed tour in small theatres...I think will be a pretty rare occurance. I can see why those on the east coast could be offended by this...but I'm just telling it like it is. If Ed was doing a solo tour on the east coast I'd admit I was jealous. I didn't mean to put down the east coast tour. I'm sure the PJ shows will be awesome too. Don't be so sensitive.

I'll be honest. I would like to see Ed live on his solo tour, but if I had a choice, it's PJ all the way. Now, I'm not saying that PJ's announcement to play on the east coast takes anything away from the west coast solo tour. I'm just saying that I enjoy the band as a whole rather than just Ed.

Now, what I would be jealous of is if Ed decided to cover "Mankind." That would be well worth the price of admission.
