Mike McCready - national anthem on 5/19 at the Mariners game

On the day of the Mariners home opener, it was announced that Pearl Jam lead guitar player Mike McCready would play the national anthem at the May 19 Mariners game.

The anthem is part of Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America Night at Safeco Field.

McCready, a Roosevelt High School graduate, has had Crohn's disease for more than 20 years. The condition can cause painful digestive-tract problems, fatigue and malnutrition.

For every ticket sold through the CCFA offer, the Mariners plan to donate $7.00 to the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation. Reduced tickets are available for purchase here.

    oh yah he went to roosevelt. thats a cool school i dont go there but ive been there many times for after school shit they play against my school alot

    I wonder if hell bring his guitar to the game and shred it during the anthem thatd be sweet. or he culd just sing whatever is cool :D

    oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

    i assume he would be playing it on guitar. is anyone else super stoked about the mariners this year 6-2 so far

    Yeah there are lots, though since the game is in the US, I'm guessing its the US anthem, played hendrix style on the geetar.
