Can somebody please recommend a good record player so I can listen to Ten? I have one but the speakers are crappy. Thanks!

Target usually has some pretty reasonably priced Crosley record players.

I got mine at a used goods store (pawn shop as you would say in the USA?).
Or just go to a dealer of DJ equipment.

I have a Stanton and I love it. Go with a Direct Drive as opposed to a belt drive turntable, especially if you intend to use it frequently. You can get Stanton turntables at your local Guitar Center. Good luck with your search!

I agree, I've heard bad things about belt driven turntables.
My turntable isn't Stanton but has a Stanton cartridge. :?

Before you buy a record player, it may be wise to do some research on record players, amps and speakers. Because you could buy a cheap record player and it could suck. Then, it would be pointless to play the reissued Ten on it.

Unfortunately, you are gonna spend at least $100 on a good record player. And, that player really won't perform unless you have a good amp and speakers.

I agree, I've heard bad things about belt driven turntables.

there is nothing wrong with a belt drive tt, and depending on who you ask, they are superior to direct. direct tables tend to be noisy or nosier then belt and usually have very thin platters which again lead to them being noiser. the only problem people might have with belts is that they wear out. this usually takes a long time to happen or if your table is going to sit unused for a long period of time. no biggie, keep extra belts on hand, they typically cost around $5-$15. i have both direct and belt, i prefer my belt. if you want to dj or scratch, you for sure want a direct but to just listen to and enjoy vinyl, its ridiculous to stear clear of a table just because its belt.

edit - for example, look at how many of these super high end tables are belt drive. http://www.bornrich.org/entry/top-10-mo ... urntables/

I bought one recently and it takes money. You need a lot of stuff. Don't buy too cheap or you will ruin your records anyways.

Can use any hookup... that player has a built in preamp.
