Your father-in-law obviously wishes you hadn't married his daughter. He never liked you. :o:o:o:mrgreen:

I think it's best to leave it alone. I totally see both sides of the argument and if the Phils didn't win the World Series and weren't raising the banner that night those tickets wouldn't be in such demand and he'd probably give you the tix.

It's just that the circumstances are not usual so I can see why he wants to make some money on the tickets.
    AH!!! the plot thickens.....

The World Series Banner will be raised???????......

Then i say give the Dad-in-law the money....

and go to the fucking game....hehehehehehehehehehe

Yup..this is the only year I really care if I'm there

He's not getting a dime over face from me !!

What I want to know is why did your father in law enter the lottery if he doesn’t want to go to opening day of the champion Philadelphia Phillies? Was his intent all along to sell them?

I know people that entered that lottery and would kill to go to that game.

Now they have to pay some jack ass scalper in order to do so.

That kind of shit pisses me off big time.

As far as your situation, he should sell them to you at face value. Apparently, his intent all along was to make a buck off of this.

Yeah...he must have entered for that purpose just to flip the tickets for more money

Needless to say if he has any games this year he can't make in his 17 game plan..I'm not taking them

Agreed... I've given away my spare ticket to rugby matches before to family and friends... that I could have actually got well over 1000 for (according to the papers). It's just something I could never bring myself to do... it's robbery and, if you're a true fan, you just don't do this... never mind doing this to family! I tried to bring myself to see his reasoning but I'm sorry it DOES make him a dick.

You only see one side... your side. As an outsider, I see both sides.
You see a Family Memeber trying to take financial advantage of another Family Member.
He sees some guy that's screwing his daughter... and just wants to even the score.
    ...
Leastwise, that's how i see it.

This last football season my brother GAVE me his 2 season tickets to the Viking-Packers game.

He could have gotten a lot of money for them if he sold them on Stubhub or something like that.

So I guess my point is, blood relatives are good for tickets, but not In-Laws.

I have season tix for Lions football. Often, we don't want to go. We try to sell them at Stub Hub or some other ticket broker, but if the price is slim, I give them to family, even though I had paid for them. WTF, if I can't get the money from the broker, they would sit empty. Why not give them away?
My bf is greedy. He has actually let the seats go unused. It pisses me off. I have to get into it with him so I can give them to my daughter, or someone.
We do pay $140 for 2 seats per game, but we prepay for the whole season, so if we can't go give the damn things away!! We are taking the loss either way.
