i have come to the conclusion that the OBAMA bailout plan should include the gorvernment taking over professional sports....chromiam wrote:South of Seattle wrote:jamminpearls wrote:Also there is NO WAY IN HELL Albert Haynesworth is worth the money he will get. 14-16 million a yr for a dt that has played 16 games once in his career is insane. 100 mill there talkn over time is nuts.
And the money spenders do it again. Redskins and Haynesworth for 100 Million.
nice to see the Skins throwing money away again... have a feeling it will work out the same way their other big FA signings have...
Fuck those ignorant owners....and fuck those ignorant players.....
put a $1,000,000 a year salary cap on all professional athletes.......
and all the revenue that is collected with the selling of overpriced tickets to all events should be given to the government.....to do whatever the fuck they need to do to get the economy back on track.....
America would be back on track in about 6 months.......

Wrong sport, but it looks like the NBA might be getting bailout money via some banks who received money from the fed:

It just seems odd that banks won't lend to people or businesses but will help out the NBA.

I'd agree with that except for one change.. instead of giving the money to the gov't... give it directly to the people and let them decide (good or bad) how to spend it on themselves. If they want to stiumlate the economy by buying $30,000 worth of lard, then let them,, if they want to invest.. let them.. if they want to pay off debt.. let em.This is your notice that there is a problem with your signature. I really hope that a cap is in place before next year, I know it won't be though. Owners like Snyder and Jones have destroyed the NFL, it will be just as bad as baseball soon....got a mind full of questions and a teacher in my soul...0 -

The Eagles have reportedly signed former Bengals OT Stacy Andrews.
The story was originally broken by Profootballtalk.com, but they appear to be having server issues. Andrews figures to get over $5 million annually. He'll likely start at right tackle, allowing his brother Shawn to stay inside. Feb. 27 - 11:02 am et

looks like big jon runyan is gone. I'd like to thank him for being a warrior and wish him success in whatever he does next. and the redskins are morons 154 million on 2 def layers is fine with me. Hall a cancer and haynensworth will be the biggiest freeagent bust of all time. I'd be suprised if he plays more then 32-40 games thru out his contract.Go Birds!!!!0 -
