no one important is up for free agency. only some backup qb's and Nate Washington at receiver. Harrison should be fine.

wouldn't think they'd let him go.
  • so when is favre gonna un-retire???

isnt ray lewis a free agent too?

yeah the Ravens have a choice to make. they'll probably go with suggs and let ray lewis go.
  • lewis might retire too. but he's still playing pretty good. cant the ravens keep both?

i think seau will for sure, 19 years!!!! ne is always doing something in the free agency. lets see if they can keep the team strong this year. seems they have alot of defensive players on the list.

nfl network made it seem like it was a choice. I think all of their linebackers are up for free agency, including scott. could be wrong, but I don't see how the ravens could keep all of their starters if that was true. too expensive, too many teams looking at them.

The Pats are a little hamstrung right now. Until they trade Cassel, they're only about $3M under the cap (as Cassel's current salary for 2009 is about $15M with the franchise tag). Key players in potentially taking Cassel: KC, Tampa and Detroit. Heard them talking on the NFL Network tonight, and sources were telling Adam Schefter that even though some think it was the system, "prominent footbal" people think Matt Cassel is indeed a top 8-10 QB in the NFL right now, and should get the Pats a good trade.

In the meantime, my guess, the Pats are going to focus on trying to extend Vince Wilfork and Logan Mankins (contracts up after 2009) ... keeping Wilfork would be relaly nice.

Supposedly, Fred Taylor is visiting Foxborough tomorrow ... might be able to get him on the cheap ... a nice 1-2-3 punch with him, Maroney (who cannot play every down) and Faulk.

oh, and I guess Tom Brady is no longer a "free agent" ... he and Gisele got married ... good, now he can ignore her and concentrate on football, that's how marraige works, right?

nice to see the Skins throwing money away again... have a feeling it will work out the same way their other big FA signings have...

I am happy the Redskins destroyed their team by signing him. And hall. They have no money left and will once again be the 4th best team in the NFC east. Snyder is an idiot and will never learn.

True, it will be interesting to see the bidding wars him and Jerry Jones get into next offseason when there is no salary cap.

i have come to the conclusion that the OBAMA bailout plan should include the gorvernment taking over professional sports....

Fuck those ignorant owners....and fuck those ignorant players.....

put a $1,000,000 a year salary cap on all professional athletes.......

and all the revenue that is collected with the selling of overpriced tickets to all events should be given to the government.....to do whatever the fuck they need to do to get the economy back on track.....

America would be back on track in about 6 months.......

Wrong sport, but it looks like the NBA might be getting bailout money via some banks who received money from the fed:

It just seems odd that banks won't lend to people or businesses but will help out the NBA. ;)

I'd agree with that except for one change.. instead of giving the money to the gov't... give it directly to the people and let them decide (good or bad) how to spend it on themselves. If they want to stiumlate the economy by buying $30,000 worth of lard, then let them,, if they want to invest.. let them.. if they want to pay off debt.. let em.

I really hope that a cap is in place before next year, I know it won't be though. Owners like Snyder and Jones have destroyed the NFL, it will be just as bad as baseball soon.
