I'm not sure I could survive without one.
Just whipped up a couple of quesadillas w/pico de gallo. Mmmmmmmm!
I mean, really............I wouldn't survive without the ol' nuker.

I think microwaves suck. I have to bake snacks. I'm picky.
EDIT: Unless you mean a toaster oven, those are fine with me.0

I would go hungry without mine....probably end up getting busted for stealing breadAll I have to do is revel in the everyday....then do it again tomorrow
They say every sin is deadly but I believe they may be wrong...I'm guilty of all seven and I don't feel too bad at all0

I like them for thawing things... but I prefer the crispyness that the oven offers

I don't use my microwave. I work in a hippie restaurant that has brainwashed me into believing they are bad for you. I prefer popcorn popped on the stove and I don't buy anything that needs to be microwaved...I really screwed that up. I really Schruted it.0

The microwave is good for a couple things. Popcorn for sure. Reheating most food. Melting butter.
BUT, it is horrible for reheating pizza, or ANY bread product. Pizza should only be reheated in the oven. And quesadillas should be cooked in a frying pan...makes the tortilla a little crispy.0

same here... I do use it the very ODD time when I'm simply lazy... but it's against my better judgement and I hate using it. I much prefer things cooked in the oven or on the hob and I don't feel that little bit of guilt when I cook them that way. The odd time though the bf buys vegetables in handy microwave packs  and sometimes the temptation can be too much... but usually I take them out and put them in a saucepan.Travelar wrote:I have one, and haven't used it in over 14 months.... Heh. Wow. I thought I read an article a year or two back about them being banned in some European countries. I'm thinking France was one of the countries for some reason. Do you know anything about that?0

Yeah... if you reheat pizza in the microwave you might as well be eating a wet rag with sauce on it.
We use ours for reheating some leftovers or defrosting stuff.. that's about it.My whole life

Pizza should only be reheated in the oven or just eat it cold. Two of my roomates use our microwave all the time, they love frozen dinners and stuff like that. I mostly use it for popcorn, because I am too lazy to go buy a real popcorn maker....got a mind full of questions and a teacher in my soul...0

I never cook in my microwave.........but I do use it a lot for thawing, melting cheese on tortillas, warming coffee, etc. And you guys are right - only in a time crunch would I use it to reheat pizza or a tasty meatball samich. We have a renter in our apartment who just moved here from India. He is 30 years old and is an engineer working at the same company as my husband. As we were showing him around the apartment he asked what the microwave was. I didn't know how to explain it. I felt kinda dumb, but how do you explain a microwave?
He also asked how to use the fridge. He was not familiar with the freezer. He wanted to know where he should keep the vegetables. He didn't know what the oven was either. He knew about range. It was hard trying to explain what an oven was. My husband told him it is what you make pizzas in. I said bread. I don't think he understood. His final question that really got us was when he pointed at something on the counter and said "what is that?" My husband and I made eye contact and my husband reached over and picked up the paper towels. He tore one off and said this is a paper towel. The renter then asked what it was for. I was somewhat taken aback so we probably did not do a good job of explaining. I should have said a "throw away rag." He is learning though, and he is a good renter. Plus he is smart so he catches on quick. The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way it treats its animals. Ghandi0

Yep - we Americans/Europeans/Aussies/etc. take a lot for granted. There's a whole separate reality in other parts of the world. If I had known then what I know now...
