Saw this on CNN and it immediately made me think about how cool it would be for Pearl Jam fans to take over a cruise ship and have the guys play a concert every night! Might be the only way to get through all their songs now:

The short of it is that a band and it's fans rent a cruise ship for a few days/week, the band performs, the fans hang out, everyone's happy. Who's with me?
this city is so filthy, like my mind in ways

My wife tried to get me to do the DMB cruise and i said no way; not to forget her and I had an agreement, after hearing horror stories about crusie liners, that we wouldnt go on a cruise no matter what. I also know Umphrey's does a jam cruise over in Amsterdam. However, that beign said, a PJ cruise would be a no brainer. Could you imagine walking up to the blackjack table and Jeff or Mike were sitting there? that be freaking tits!!

that expression never ceases to make me laugh.

i've been on 2 cruises in my life; once as a child with my family to bermuda...had a great time! then, as an adult.....our honeymoon along the coast of alaska....spectacular! cruises can be absolutely amazing trips! a pearl jam cruise would most definitely be fun! however, i just don't forsee it happening..... :P
    Stay with me...
    Let's just breathe...

  • That would be so awesome! I would go!!

One question though...Would Boom be sailing the ship??

  • If PJ did this, although kinda cheesey, I would def. be in.

I went on a cruise in 05 called the Rockboat, a carnival cruise "rented" by Sister Hazel(southern rock band). We were originally to go to the Cayman Islands but the cruise was rerouted to Cozumel for shitty weather. I have to admit that it was pretty fuckin sweet. I was turned on to Marc Broussard, he was sick live. They had Gavin Degraw as well, before he sold his song to that One Tree Hill show.

There was even a meet and greet for a few of the bands there....I anyone is considering going on the Rockboat, I would vouch for it.....If you are into PJ and they did this, it would be well worth the money. I'd pay a few G's just to hang on a cruise with the band and maybe get a chance to meet one of the members....

There were pro musicians just mingling about jamming out with the fans on their acoustics

kind of cheesy.. plus there are so many stalker-esque fans, It would prob.be really creepy... that being said, I would prefer if they did like a three day festival...

I'd be up for it, but if I somehow ended up on the boat in that article I'd jump off and take my chances with the sharks... the thought of 5 days on a ship with a bunch of Christian music lovers literally makes me shudder with horror... talk about a nightmare!

I suggested this in the "Why doesn't PJ play Alaska?" thread. They should definitely do this -- to Alaska! We could all sail out of Seattle. I did the AK cruise on Norwegian a few years back and it was awesome! Combine that with my favorite band playing the gigs in the ship's theater; I'd be ALL OVER THAT! They could have some of their favorite openers tag along too like KOL, MMJ, Sleater-Kinney reunited!

They need to do this someday. 8-)

NKOTB just did this recently and there was a night they were going to work in the cocktail lounge serving drinks to the ladies. Kind of weird.

I would much rather go on the Jamcruise with Les Claypool.
