Hey Aussies, we're gonna get ourselves 950 back this coming year!
115 bucks for half a haircut by a novice? I want my money back!

Isn't it for single income families only?
I don't think singles get that tax back.

If we do, it is going towards my overseas holiday this winter of ours.

Will look into more detail tomorrow, but there's a quite a few groups, and yes, this includes single income families. Will need to look more closely at the details tomorrow.

I'll be taking the money and stimulating the economy in my new country :)

If I wasn't going overseas mid year I'd stimulate the Australian economy with a purchase of a Playstation 3 and a few games ;)

Last year I had a fairly healthy refund so I made some adjustments - changed my withholding to 4 - and I came out just perfect this year. I owe $50.

My refund came in the form of a $200 raise per paycheck throughout the year after adjusting the withholding.

Much better to get the refund upfront than at the end of the year.

Bank... then pay for some of the trips me and my girlfriend will be taking this summer, as well as going towards some work on the house.

I won't know until some time in June, so why bother even thinking about it. I'm in a partnership that is always on extension, but I'm thinking this year we will be overpaid in our estimated payments due to the stock situation. But, even so, our overpayments just go towards the next year. We never get any money back.

better than knowing as late as september tho as some partnerships. ;) haha.

we definitely should get a refund this year, especially b/c of some last-minute maneuvers i made in december. it will go towards paying off a few things...yay! that was the whole point. however, i won't know for awhile b/c all my info hasn't even come thru yet....and then i wait for my accountant, my sister :P, to get it done. :)
    Stay with me...

cubs tickets go on sale feb 20..............

Yeah, I was looking at the schedule yesterday. Trying to pick some weekend games to come back into town for...still haven't decided.
I'm also going to get Springsteen tickets for the upcoming tour. Tickets ain't cheap.

    Oh well.

I'm doing my taxes this weekend.
The only thing I worry about is that I made a significant amount more than I did the year before. I hope that doesn't mean I don't get as much back. Good for nothing liberals! :D:lol:

Filing jointly has it's advantages. Due to the wifey being in school, we stand to get back a tidy sum , split down the middle. For my half , I'll be paying back a family loan, paying down a couple CC , gonna try to put some in savings (but with my track record there it won't last ) maybe try to add to 401k - not sure though since I'm no longer with that company.

i hope we get a refund....
this is our 1st year to file as being married, and my job pays me as a contract employee (1099-MISC) because i work remotely (they're in Houston) from my computer. so...we'll see how it shapes up. i get the feeling that we're going to owe $ even though we're both in school & are newly married.

i've never had to pay before...it sure would be nice to keep the streak alive!!! 8-)

if we do get a refund, it'll pay off the new xB that we bought. or go towards a anniversary trip!
    I LOVE MUSIC.

  • us californians are going to be lucky to get anything back on our state returns. i just read an article this morning that the state controller is delaying refund payments for 30 days rather than sending checks that will surely bounce.

    craziness.
  • I'm waiting for ours to get deposited any day. I'm going to get us a new laptop, pay some bills, and then maybe put some into little ledvedderbaby's college fund.
