  • i haven't done mine yet but i'll most likely get a refund (always end up overpaying over the year). i'll throw mine in the savings until it's time for my trip to europe later this year :)

I won't know until some time in June, so why bother even thinking about it. I'm in a partnership that is always on extension, but I'm thinking this year we will be overpaid in our estimated payments due to the stock situation. But, even so, our overpayments just go towards the next year. We never get any money back.

I just did my 2007 and get over 15K back. A bit on the credit card, buty a few more shares and kkep the vast majority liquid in a bid to buy another property.

What gets me is the Tax Office cheques take three days to clear with those fuckwit banks. I know times are tough but you tellling me Treasury need to be checked. Flippin digrace
I'll ride the wave where it takes me.

The camping sounds fun! We haven't done that in quite a while. So many great places here that we haven't gone to yet. Definitely need to plan some for this year. :D

I've never been there. Was supposed to go when I was 13 with my aunt but she broke her leg a month before the trip so I've never made it there.

Taking my first family vacation with the folks and my sister in 8 years so it should be a good time. My parents and sister have been there before and loved it. I just can't wait to finally set my eyes upon the Colosseum in person.

Re your camping issues haha: That is one plus about the PNW, less bugs. We definitely have the rain though, but that I love. Not so much poison ivy as you have to watch out for nettles. Paul has gotten into those really good as he always wears shorts. A friend told us of a great remedy for it though, just rub a sword fern over them and it takes them all off. It actually works. :D

Isn't it for single income families only?
I don't think singles get that tax back.

If we do, it is going towards my overseas holiday this winter of ours.

Will look into more detail tomorrow, but there's a quite a few groups, and yes, this includes single income families. Will need to look more closely at the details tomorrow.

I'll be taking the money and stimulating the economy in my new country :)

If I wasn't going overseas mid year I'd stimulate the Australian economy with a purchase of a Playstation 3 and a few games ;)

Last year I had a fairly healthy refund so I made some adjustments - changed my withholding to 4 - and I came out just perfect this year. I owe $50.

My refund came in the form of a $200 raise per paycheck throughout the year after adjusting the withholding.

Much better to get the refund upfront than at the end of the year.

Bank... then pay for some of the trips me and my girlfriend will be taking this summer, as well as going towards some work on the house.

we definitely should get a refund this year, especially b/c of some last-minute maneuvers i made in december. it will go towards paying off a few things...yay! that was the whole point. however, i won't know for awhile b/c all my info hasn't even come thru yet....and then i wait for my accountant, my sister :P, to get it done. :)
