Selling Food at Roo?

So being a broke college kid that is saving all of his paychecks until Roo I was wondering if I could actually sell food on the campground? Would it be successful if I kept the prices low (enough for me to make profit) and grilled burgers, veggie burgs and hot dogs? It's either food or joints but I wanna go for something that isn't illegal for my first choice.

Thats what I'm saying. My buddy thinks it wont work. Oh, and I went to the Culinary Institute of America, so it'll be good.

People do sell stuff in the campgrounds, but I'm not sure of their success rate. I would suggest getting some sort of dust guard, as the campground is extremely dusty. We were calling it Dustaroo, and the name was very fitting. I don't think people would want to buy dusty hot dogs...but cheap food would be a good idea I think.

You've got a lot of high, hungry, semi-poor people walking around. that equals success imo.

you'd have the best luck baking some special brownies.

I've been doing a ton of research about Roo and from what I can tell, there -are- people that sell food but the majority of people give it away. If you get too fancy, it will get shut down for sure.

    I'd buy a brownie, for sure! :)

Thats what I was worried about. I might bake some brownies for personal use too.

    I want one!
  • I'm just planning on selling it for like $1.50-2.00 a piece, nothing too expensive.

There will be a variety of vendors in the Centeroo / concert venue and the
campground that will provide a variety of interesting, diverse, and reasonably priced food. Vendors in the campground will be providing breakfast, lunch, dinner and late night snacks. The general store will also sell snacks and beverages in addition to sundry items. For health and quality reasons, unauthorized food vendors pose a risk to festival goers. Unauthorized food vendors are not permitted and will be shut down to alleviate that risk.

I'm talking about food, the brownies might be $3, and a joint would be $5-7 if I actually do sell there.

  • I heard about that, thats why I'm double thinking the joints. Plus my buddies are brining weed (thats for sure) and I'm not, nut if I'm going to get charged too then I might tell them to leave it home. It's not worth the trouble, especially if it stops me from seeing PJ. They will probably still bring them though, unless I take my moms car and if thats the case they can just not go if they bitch about it.

you won't have to go very far. they are everywhere in the south. think of all the dunkin donuts in the north multiplied by 5.

We used to go to Waffle House all the time during college after a late night. Nothing tastes as good as a full plate of hash browns covered in ketchup at 3AM.
I wish I was as fortunate, as fortunate as me.

I have a friend that used to sell PB&J's at Grateful Dead concerts for a $1. All you do is get a table, bread, jelly and peanut butter stick some knives on the table and make it self serve. The Dead Heads loved him and always looked forward to seeing him in Chicago every year.

Wow! Crazy crazy crazy. How can every person in a car be charged with possession if only one person has it? Not cool.
