A client of ours was on the plane that went down in the Hudson River, NYC. This was taken as he was being pulled away on the ferry

That is seriously intense. It's crazy to see the cabin just floating in the water like that. Glad to see your pal is ok.

Me too! He is just freaked out! I think the passengers need to get a fund together for that pilot!! What a job! Didn't even break a wing off!

well I'm not sure the passengers should, or would want to, pay for the experience :D but I agree SOMEBODY should sort this guy out... what a landing, eh?

The airline OWES the pilot/co-pilot a nice raise and bonus. I'd imagine though ,that the plane will be stripped of it's skin and thoroughly checked for stress fractures.

In fact, your friend's picture was just on msn.com.

You know, you'd like to think you could keep your composure in a situation like that, when the water level starts to rise to your window, but i have a feeling I would turn into George Costanza and start stepping on people to get to the exit.

I just add that to list of why I don't like to fly. Last time I was in a plane we went sideways in the air for what felt like a minute but more likley a few seconds but that scared the hell out of me. When we landed, everyone was clapping and what not. I hate flying.

or they will just dry it off replace some 30 weight ball bearings maybe add about 10 quarts of antifreeze, preferably Prestone. No, make that Quaker State.

That pilot is a true hero.

Landing a plane of that size, going 130 mph, on water, without any engines is truly amazing!

I just read an article earlier about how The US airlines haven't had a single death for 2 years. Were there any deaths?

Nope. There was even an infant onboard. Everyone survived.

    Totally!!! What a freakin' landing.

If people could ever request to fly with a specific pilot, I would absolutely request Mr. Sully!

    glad everyone is safe

i wish there was a video of the landing... that must be sick to see

i always laugh when they say "in case of a water landing"... i always figured if you hit the water you're f'd anyway

    but i guess it's possible

although hearing that you can't open the rear doors is freaky... i guess the plane would sink if you open the rear doors

if i was in the last row... i think i'd probably panic a little bit

Im glad all those people were okay...that was a miracle imo.
These cuts are leaving creases. Trace the scars to fit the pieces, to tell the story, you don't need to say a word.

very crazy stuff, and amazing no one was hurt!

i remember when it happened yesterday, a bunch of people in our office went over to the west side windows and could actually see some of the hub-bub, even tho we're on the east side. up high, long view.

Yeah, it would be tough to be sitting by the rear exit after a plane goes down and not want to rip that door open and get the F out!

I wonder why the rear of the plane is less buoyant than the front.
