what an idiot....should have done what leinart did and come back and go for the nc...thankfully we have 3 qb's ready to start so it really doesn't hurt the next national champion :P
I would have left too. Pete sure was a prick at the news conference. What did staying one more year do for Leinart? He's now in the NFC title game!

I agree. the top 5 this year will be contenders for next year..soulsinging wrote:Beanie Wells left, which is sad but not unexpected. Kinda disappointed given all his talk about wanting to make a run for the Heisman and win a championship. That said, he didn't have a single season where he stayed healthy, so he was always suspect anyway.
The Buckeyes will have some serious competition this season though... Penn State and Iowa look to be in good shape, and Mich State and Northwestern could also be competitive.
USC is always talented... that early USC-OSU game should be fantastic. Since McCoy WAS all of Texas's offense, they'll be just as good as last year. Bradford and Tebow both returning is a surprise, but both those teams should be pretty damn good. I think the top 5 this season could look almost exactly the same as last season...
the only team I don't get is Utah...but if they don't lose next year I think they deserve a bcs national championship bid, whoever they play. you can't go undefeated for 2 seasons+ and not get some credit/0 -

He's might not take a sack during the playoffs.

Wow, Carrol was not pleased about Sanchez going pro. That was funny....got a mind full of questions and a teacher in my soul...0

Pete's little rant, which was quite comical, came off as pretty damned selfish to me. This is a kid who is probably going to be the #1 pick in the draft and be set for life, so what if he is going too early. He is going to get paid and get paid big time and, much like the case of Harvin, he would be a damn fool not to go now because it isn't worth the risk of getting hurt and ruining his chances of a career in the NFL. Plus, next year he will have Bradford and McCoy to deal with so his stock probably wouldn't be as high. It's all about striking while the iron is hotpjsteelerfan wrote:Wow, Carrol was not pleased about Sanchez going pro. I like the Wolverines too, looks like they have a good class comming in and a QB that can run the spread....got a mind full of questions and a teacher in my soul...0 -
yes im excited..i understand transition. its just depressing when we would of had i decent team if not for losing our qb to the fuckeyes0

That's my point really....Pete's reasons for being worried Sanchez will be in Detroit next year are more because he will no longer be in SoCal...not because he will be stuck with a shitty team. Really, how could a coach expect a kid not to take a payday like that? Seems like a no-brainer as far the business side of things to me. It is a business decision more than anything whether to stay or go nowadays. If Sanchez is going to get paid big time now is his time...not next yearpjsteelerfan wrote:Yellow Ledbelly wrote:

That's why Sanchez is a moron... hmmm... one more year on the USC campus banging gorgeous cali coeds 3-4 at a time, or move to Detroit?0 -

Yeah, I'm not so sure how Utah will fare. I meant more the USC, Florida, Texas, Oklahoma crews.0 -

I'm no expert, but I'm pretty sure to "lose" someone or something you first have to "have" them. Maybe you guys should have considered that before hiring a douchebag like Rod... he's going to be losing a lot of recruits to the Vest the next few years.0 -
He may not go to Detroit though, but Jim Rome said it best yesterday- either take $40-$60 and maybe be in Detroit, or go back to USC one more year, lose to Washington State, still go 11-1 and crush some team from the midwest in the Rose Bowl again. Been there done that....got a mind full of questions and a teacher in my soul...0

I am not a fan of RichRod. Michigans problem was Defense, and as soon as they get someone competant, RichRod lets him go, only to ask him back a year later. Now they are still 2 years away from being good again....got a mind full of questions and a teacher in my soul...0 -

On the upside, it'll be fun to watch OSU set a whole bunch of records for this rivalrly... like consecutive victories, margin of victory, etc

I am so happy that RichRod reneged on his deal with Alabama.....words just can't express my happiness. :twisted:soulsinging wrote:CC279494 wrote:yes im excited..i understand transition. its just depressing when we would of had i decent team if not for losing our qb to the fuckeyes
