Young Pearl Jam fans...

Just curious how many younger Pearl Jam fans are on this board. A good amount of my high school friends listen to Pearl Jam with me and my 2 bestfriends being dieahard fans... My college friends however don't really listen to Pearl Jam or most of the music I like for that matter... I'll be 20 in month by the way

    I'm 21 and have somehow managed to surround myself with 1 other hardcore fan and a bunch of casuals who at least have respect for the band and are always down for a show. I think that is a kind of rare though...we must be pretty lucky.

    I'm 20 and a junior in college. None of my friends at school are that into them and think I'm clinically insane for having 900+ pj songs on my itunes library. But luckily a few of my good friends at home are as into them as i am

    ill be 21 in a week... and i hang around with too many hipsters to have any friends into PJ... oh well... most of their stuff is pretty decent and it keeps me up on the current music scene... but the conversations some people have about music! SHEESH :roll:

    I just turned 20 in december. None of my close friends listen to them but i have a few older freinds that like them a bit.

    Here you are a young pj fan from italy. nobody of my friends love pearl jam, they only know a few songs...I consider it a good thing, I wouldn't want pearl jam to become too popular, they wouldn't be the same for me.

    I'm turning 21 in a month, been a fan since i was 15. I got my best friend into em, brought him to a few shows, they are certainly one of his favorite bands, and nearly everyone that I know I've tried to get to like them, although most younger folks don't know the songs aside from Betterman, Last Kiss, Evenflow.

    Of course! The more the merrier, obviously. Besides I think 24 falls under the spectrum of "young".

    If 24 passes, then count me in! :) I got to know them when I was 14 or 15 years old.

    When I was in high school Pearl Jam were quite popular here - it was a period of a year or two - around 2002. It was like a hype - especially among girls. It seemed like so many attended concert in Ljubljana (Slovenia) in 2000, and it was a sort of reaction to that. I remember reading yearbooks from seniors and almost every second face had in description " loves Pearl Jam" or something similar. I was really surprised since in my class there were only two that liked them. In 2006 when PJ came to neighboring country - Croatia, I had to struggle to find people to come on a concert with me. Pearl Jam were like a musical phase for them. But not for me ;) .
    The worst enemies of music? Money and Mathematics. Combined with music, they both do the exact opposite of what they're supposed to do. Money makes music cheap, mathematics makes it stupid and predictable.

    i'm 20 and have been a fan since 14. i've also converted 4 or 5 of my friends to pretty much diehards. PJ got me through high school!

    I have two very young Pearl Jam fans....2-4 years old.....and yes they really are fans. They enjoy dancing almost every night to Do The Evolution before bed...at their request. My son listens to ITW and some solo stuff while falling asleep at night. Anytime we put on PJ in the house...the kids drop anything to go dance.

    And my favorite......my son knows and can sing word for word his favorite song Walking the Cow....whats even funnier is watching the almost 2 year old try and sing it too. My son has the Portland CCFA FireFighter on his wall that one very generous Pit member gave my son for free....they have never met before....its one of his favorite things in his room. Now Im looking for something to with pink for my daughters room so she can have a PJ poster too.

    They would have posted in the thread...but they cant type so Im doing it for them.

    Kalman and Ella say hello to thier fellow pit members!

    yeah I've been over to Germany twice but spent most my time in Marburg...next time PJ heads that way I'm planning my vacation around it!
