    I'm 21 and a college senior.. been a fan since I was 14.
I've tracked down quite a few fans my age around the college I go to..but I guess you could say that none of them are quite as rabid about the band as I am (with the traveling and touring and all) but they're jealous. :)

I'm 19 and a freshman in college too. I've been posting on the message pit it since I was 14. There's definitely a lot more Pearl Jam fans my age now than there were in the beginning of high school, but it's still pretty rare and exciting to meet others. So far I've made it to 11 Pearl Jam shows and 4 Eddie Vedder shows. Not too bad for getting a later start :P

21 Years old and a college junior from the Pittsburgh currently spending a year in Europe. For some reason a great deal of my friends from High School were all big PJ fans, coincidence? I think not. It's a rough life. :D

I also don't belong on the list, but it is inspiring seeing young fans. Most recently I had a few drinks with a couple of guys around 21-22 just before MSG1 this year. Besides impressing me with their knowledge of the band, their excitement surrounding their first live PJ show was intoxicating and really got me excited as well.

Alpine Valley is an EPIC venue. I have yet to see PJ there myself...but it's really something else. I would put it right up there with places like The Gorge and Red Rocks in terms of sheer beauty..

What does all the Senior, Freshman, Junior stuff mean exactly?

Those just refer to what year of high school or college someone is in. The order is Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior.
  • ArcticangelArcticangel Posts: 1,443
Freshman - first year of college
Sophomore - second year of college
Junior - third year of college
Senior - fourth year of college
It used to be really rare to take more than four years to graduate from a university...but now it's a lot more common for people to take 5 years. I'll be done in 4.5 (one year from right now! yay!)

yay i still count for this... i'll be 24 next week:) pretty much none of my friends are fans of pearl jam. i know a few people who will go to a show with me, so i've never gone alone, but as far as actually listening to them on any kind of regular basis, i'd say no. which makes me sad sometimes, especially because a lot of the stuff i hear my friends listening to is garbage. of course, most of my friends are gay guys who like pop music so i guess it's to be expected haha. oh well. during my undergrad years i was basically referred to as "brandon, that dude who loves pearl jam." so i guess it's established me in some sort of unique fashion.

Hehe, oh dear lord, I am loving this thread!!

I'm not as young as you guys, 27 here. But its great to see the love of the band going strong with the 'next' generation.

Sadly none of my friends are really into Pearl Jam. They all know that I am, and most of them at least respect the band, but aren't hardcore about it like me.

I still remember back in my 6th grade year book (that was '93) Pearl Jam was listed as the classes favorite band, I don't know what happened to the rest of them, but I'm still here!

Oh, and my avatar? The tattoo is celebrating 7 years of existence coming up in February, I get a kick out of the fact that I've had that longer then some of you have been fans. I'm old!!!

25 here.....Not sure if I'm "young" enough for this list. But I've been a casual fan since I dunno, prob around 14-15. The obsession kicked in the last 3-4 years. I looked earlier today and I have over 1,000 PJ songs on my ipod. Crazy.

    Hey arcticangel,

You and me both are praying for a PJ alpine valley show. To see my fav band in my fav concert venue would be a dream come true.

    For sure

Maybe we should make a list of young pearl jam fans who are willing to do a lot of travelling in preparation :)
  • i just turned 22:) i'm glad there is such a great presence on this board from us young'ns, because although i run into many people who have taken a liking to pearl jam, it's not often that i meet many die hards!
i've been in my mind, it's such a fine line...
