that camera loks alright, some of the things you should look for are optical zoom, image stabilization, and megapixels... while that camera has a good size for megapixels, the optical zoom will only be good for the first few rows, you might want to look higher than that, image stabilization will help look in on the shot, so no matter how shaky your hands get the picture will come out sharp
i purchased a canon powershot s3 for the us tour and was very happy with the results, it has a 12x optical zoom, manual settings, and image stabilization... depending on your price range i would definitely recommend this camera, but you would want to think about what shows you will be shooting, pearl jam was very cool with their camera policy, and i was able to take this camera into their shows, it is however borderline professional, at least in the eyes of security, almost got taken away in portland by an overzealous usher
finally, no matter what camera you buy become familiar with the manual, know how to use it properly, once you figure out how to work the camera you can adjust the settings to account for lighting, motion, etc
here's a great site to research camera's, they have message boards for every brand, and most if not all models will be covered, they also list the best prices around on the internet

here are a couple of pictures from the gorge, they will help show how important the optical zoom is (digital zoom decreases image quality)
both of these were taken during I Won't Back Down from night II

this one was taken on my way back from the beer stand during the encore break, i was at the back of the floor area, maybe row 50 (definitely at the very back)

this one was from the 8th row on mike's side, using close to full 12x optical zoom
hope this helpslooking for 2 to Columbia...
