Why am I no longer getting my email notifications to the threads I've subscribed to?
It's still all appears to be selected in my profile options but no emails since yesterday morning and I know that threads I have been on have continued.
So why no emails?
Anybody got any ideas?

So it's happening to you too LJ?
That would be good to know, because as redrock can attest, I've already done some serious hoop jumping to make sure it isn't my Microsoft Outlook or service provider.NOPE!!!

I'm getting them now. I just figured it was because I'm usually a thread cooler.I didn't even suspect my email!

hehe!! Well at least you didn't race around driving people nuts like I did thinking I'd killed Microsoft Outlook somehow!
Anyway, seems that I'm getting some of them again now too. So whatever it was, it appears to be over. Which is good because I cannot function without those emails!
No chance you'll be THE THREAD COOLER!NOPE!!!

I don't get daily ones but I get them weekly. But Im sure I have it set that way. These cuts are leaving creases. Trace the scars to fit the pieces, to tell the story, you don't need to say a word.0

Yeah, I've got mine set to instant, which is why I was so mystified when they just stopped. I usually get one for every reply in a thread once I've posted, so that's a lot of email, but I usually just go through and delete all of them except the first one that comes in, in a day, that way I can go straight to the next point in the thread and read to get up to date.Oh and I then go back and delete any from the day before in my inbox once it's been updated. Did that make any sense at all?

yeesh! that sounds like an awful lot of 'work' for something that's supposed to be 'fun' like a message board.hahaha. i at most even 'subscribe' to a thread without instant notification, simply to make it easy to find....but even that is rare. if a thread is THAT 'busy' to keep up with yea, forget it....i don't need to read EVERY reply in any thread.

The emails from "Pics where ed looks hot" were getting overwhelming! Some threads fill up your inbox! But If I don't have the notifications I forget about them.

and i would say, if you can manage to 'forget' about them...perhaps they are meant to be forgotten?haha. anyway, like i said, i DO subscribe to some long-standing threads....without notification...simply to make it easy to dredge them back up if/when i want to. then it's simply a matter of checking user CP and the list of subscribed threads, etc. like i said, i don't need to see/read EVERY response in a thread.....so yea, for me, it seems far too much 'work'...whereas overall, i come here for 'fun.' sure, some seriously topics at times absolutely....but yea...i just don't want/need to be THAT involved is all.
c'est la vie!Stay with me...

Indeed, to each his own but, at work, I mostly check my email, not really the forums. Too busy but, if I see a reply I'll click it to see that specific reply. I like that this forum actually puts the reply in the email, not all do.
Since I am at work and our web activities are monitored, I'd rather check email to see if I get, well, email, and then if there's a reply I can go to the forum rather than checking the forum all day and the user cp.bugs in the way...I feel about you

aha! and so the plot thickens....and the real truth surfaces.hahaha. i hearya now! i've never had a job that i had easy internet access, so never read or posted from work. however, i now do. granted, i don't plan on doing so, at least at first
......but good tips, thanks! i actually don't think our activity is monitored...too huge to do so, but i guess perhaps if you get 'flagged' maybe......but whateva, i wouldn't want to make a bad impression either......just going by what coworkers have told me thus far.
however, you can be sure if/when i DO make that first post from work...you'll all know, haha, b/c i am continually amazed just how many DO read/post from work, and sure...perhaps a wee bit of jealousy on my part....getting paid to post.Stay with me...

You know, it only takes a minute to do so! Especially when you're linked to your favorite threads through email!
Well, if your company is large, then your internet activity is catalogued. Perhaps I used the wrong terms...every single page accessed through the internet is logged at my work but, no one cares unless they're looking to fire you and then they can actually request the logs and can use it against you. Everyone in the company goes online for personal business it's just no one cares unless it affects the work. It's like email, they can pull up any email you've ever sent, they just don't unless they need to. The only times I think this doesn't apply is when the company is small.
You'll get comfy eventually and do it! I just know it!bugs in the way...I feel about you
