Is it weird that, despite how much I love cheesecake, Cheesecake Factory cheesecake grosses me out? I can only eat the regular cheesecake with a little bit of raspberry sauce on it. The highly flavored ones make me shudder, haha.

    true story:
after 2 months of marriage counseling...my now soon to be ex husband came over and asked for a divorce, THEN took me out to eat at the Cheesecake Factory for dinner after I stopped hysterically crying. I think I agreed to go cause I was in shock still... I haven't been back since. That might have been the weirdest day of my life. *divorce request, dinner, coffee, shopping, and a movie:eek: now that's a WTF kinda day! (only sex could of made it weirder!)

Now that's a different way to call it off! I'm use to the ol' "It's not you, it's me..." speech. Never got dinner out of that deal!

    exactly.

their thai lettuce wraps are fantastic though!
and their cheesecake is unreal! their seasonal pumpkin cheesecake.....YUMMM! hubby and i *just* got some over the weekend, soooo good!

cutback - i shall make a note of that for the future. ;) we really don't go there much. i think i've eaten there 3-5 times at most. before i tried their lettuce wraps, sure, had decent food each time...but nothing that 'wowe'd me. i usually am a repeat customer to restaurants that have at least 1-2 dishes that wow me. so yea, we'd occasionally stop by when the mood for takeout cheesecake struck. :p

and yes, they do have yuppie prices for their menu.
    Stay with me...

I really don't think it's that expensive, considering what you get. Sure, it's more expensive than the middle of the road chains (Friday's, Applebees, etc.), but the food is better, the restaurants are nicer, and the portions you get are HUGE. When my wife and I go we usually split an appetizer, and one of their dinner salads. The 2 of us cannot finish the salad! We end up with a second meal out of it.

The most outrageously priced items on their menu is the damn cheesecake!

My ex and I ended our marriage over the course of several dinners at the Cheesecake Factory. I wonder what it is about that place  They saw me cry so many times, I don't think I'm allowed back. Which is a shame, because I loooove craig's crazy carrot cake cheesecake - mmmmmmmmmmm :)

I don't know..the food is just okay. The best thing is the cheescake. The one by me has shitty service too. I rather go to Friday's or Chilis.

Right. It falls into my theory of "the more extensive the menu is, the more underwhelming the food is".

Can't be everything to everyone. They should stick with the desserts and be done with it.
