I had my first one this morning. It hurt! :p

I can't believe I was stressed out about this though. It was really no big deal. :o:)

The hardest thing about it was giving up caffeine for two weeks ahead of time. (And really, that wasn't so bad...)

    Boobs.
  • Why did you have to give up caffeine?
Been to this many PJ shows: Reading 2006 London 2007 Manchester & London 2009 Dublin, Belfast, London, Nijmegen & Berlin 2010 Manchester 1 & Manchester 2 2012...

... and I still think Drive-By Truckers are better.

Apparently it makes it hurt more if you don't, but also it makes the x-rays easier to read. At least, that's what the tech told me today. :)

It hurt more than I expected, but since it didn't last long, it was bearable enough.

I have one every six months (for now), and while I don't enjoy them, I can get through them pretty easily. It's worth it, totally.

SOTD...if you have any family history, get one. :)

    I'm only 24 though.
I think there's only been one case of breast cancer in my family (that I know of - my mother was adopted so there could be more) but I know there is definately a cervical cancer threat... and i'm not going to ignore that!

  • I heard that the bigger your girls are, the more it hurts  Not looking forward to that but soon enough I should start having them. I have NO idea beyond my mum what my medical history is. :o

My mum is adopted as well hence I have NO idea what could be awaiting me. Hopefully, I fare better than my poor mum has :(

Just know your gals, touch them often, and report anything that doesn't feel "right".

Was it your Mom that had BC? :(

Was it the word "mammogramist" giving me away? Still, I can honestly say that I bear no boob anywhere any ill will.

I think it was... if you'd have used 'Mammogram technician' or 'radiographer' I'd have popped the boys out for you to have a look at... but alas, one slip up cost you your 'Career' as 'chief boob inspector' on The Pit *sigh* ;)

I believe you when you say you bear no ill will to any boob... probably quite the opposite infact, afterall, you're only male ;)

D'oh! And I had paradise within my grasp (literally).

Anyway, good luck and good health to boobs all across this great planet. I should make that my platform and run for office.
