Would everyone be in favor of this so that way it eliminates all of the gaps in members that have expired. that way everyones number greatly improves and we would really get a true sense of where we really stand in the terms of seniority.

Obviously this is something that would only get done once every 5 years or so.

i would rather keep the number but just be told how many people within the 425k have dropped their membership.

I'd just prefer to be given a specific number of active members so I've got a rough idea of where I stand in the pecking order of the Ten Club society.

This is a great idea and I've thought of it before, but this leaves WAAAAAAAAAAAY to much room for potential errors on the 10C end....and I think we all know quite a bit about the gang over there and their ability to even get a Christmas Single out to us before April....

Think about all the calls/emails they would get from people, claiming/complaining that they think they got placed in the wrong number, etc.......

They've got enough on their plate without dealing with this.....lets just keep it simple....

    Word?

Either option would for for me... new 10c# or finding out how many have dropped out.

The question is, do we get a new 10C# everytime someone lower than us drops out? Not very feasible, and if we don't it ruins the idea of the system.

I think it would be cool to have a "rank" that they give us. Like "Your number is 397xxx out out of 425,000 and your rank is 4,955 out of 5,256."

Anyone know how many active 10c members there are?

How about not changing our numbers but send out a X-Mas gift of letting us know our true place in seniority as it stands.

    Why not keep it simple....

    Try using bands.

    Tier 1 (x - 50,XXX)
    Tier 2 (50,xxx - 100,xxx)
    Tier 3 (100,xxx - 150,xxx)
    Tier 4 (150,xx - 200,xxx)
    etc...
Keep updating this every other year...

If they sent me an excel file with the current members' names and member number I could assign a new seq number to them in 5 minutes. The original numbers don't have to change, they could just give everyone an unofficial current rank # for where they stand in the fanclub as of that date.

I think they should send that excel doc to me instead ; )

I would be more than happy to do it for them......

Its just so easy you sort table by member number and then in access you assign a new field whose properties are AutoNumber ans woila you have a new order number that they could send to everyone but not change their orignal number.

They could do this in 5 minutes and have a mass email out in 25 minutes.

Or even create a enter box on the main page where you enter your member number and hit enter. it then provides you of your current rank in the fan club.

That wouldn't be hard for a programmer to do and would probably take a week or so.

it makes no difference, whether u keep yor current number or get a better number, u still have same amount of people before you....

Thats a great idea, do you think they would take the time (5mins) to actually do this, though?

Building a spreadsheet right now at work.....

You're right, it could be done incredibly easily....

like i said in another thread... its about having a better idea of where you are going to sit the day of the show. everyone here knows that we wont magically jump in front of members who joined before us.

Exactly! Now that the # is responsible for seniority seating it would be nice to know where you stack up and give each member a better idea of where they might sit. It's too easy to do and no ones number would change.
