Wet winter, yes, allergies are bad now. We live in N. Scottsdale, about a mile from the Ocean Club. Love this area, but still, miss the NE. Mostly the people.
Have fun!!!
Ever eaten here?

Yes, I have! Love it up in Cave Creek. You should try a place called Binkleys, in Cave Creek, fantastic.

If U want a cat and U have allergy it would be better if U choose breed without hair, like sphinx or with less hair like devon rex.
It shows that cats non-sterilizated can cause allergy more than these which sterilizated (hormones).
But... anyway... it's not so simple...
E.g. I have allergy on cats but not every cat makes cause me an allergy (even i'm vet and i have contact with many cats)
Besides - i have friend- she has 4 cats (four!) although she has allergy (allergic asthma) for (on?) cats. She takes medications for allergy. I don't think it's good, but...
By the way - when i wanted to study veterinary, my doctor said that i coudn't study this because my allergy with time would grow and maybe it would impend my life. But i chose. And i don't regret.
My advice - try to find cat which U can take for e.g. one week. For this time U will find out if U have allergy on this cat or not (but it doesn't mean that if U are not-that U will not get an allergy in future for this one cat - but the possibility is a little smaller).
And - the most important - how shows Your allergy? Is it asthma or U have "skin" allergy? Not 10c member? Have sth to say? write to me - I'll put it on the forum

Much better than my Polish would ever be!!!0 -
I am very allergic to cats and never knew this until I moved in with a roommate who had two. As a result, I have asthma. I never had it before and now it's something I'll always have. My suggestion is to not get a cat. no matter what you take, your body is not going to like it, and it's going to be a battle. Now living without cats, I'm better but I can't stand to be around them for more than a few mins without wheezing."I'll ride the wave where it takes me.."0

We usually stay at the same house off of hole #14 at Troon North (I believe we're on the Pinnacle course if I am not mistaken).
Binkley's sounds familiar...Bright eyed kid: "Wow Typo Man, you're the best!"

I have always had really really bad cat allergies but when I was a teenager we got a Siamese cat and for some reason I could tolerate being in the same house - although if she scratched me I would break out in welts.
I have since found out that Siamese cats have less dander than most cats so that is probably the reason I could be around her with more or less no issues.0 -

GraySaturday wrote:please don't get a pet if there is a chance you can't take care of it due to allergies or any reason. Shelters are over crowded because of animals having to be surrendered because their owners are allergic. (I know this is only one reason and there are many more)
I know you want a pet, but its selfish to get one just to fill a need you have if you might not be able to care for it. Think of the heartbreak a pet goes through if it gets comfortable in your house and then has to be brought to a shelter. Most animals that are surrendered from their owners to a shelter that does not have a no kill policy are put down.
Maybe you could help out at your local shelter by walking dogs and playing with them to get your dog fix. Or spend time working with the cats there. You will see how your allergies act and be doing a great service to the homeless pet community in the mean time.
well this is exactly why I am VERY reluctant to try any cat. my friend gave a dog back because she was allergic (whether this is the true reason is questionable) and I thought it was A TERRIBLE thing to do. I did have a friend in north carolina who was a cat foster parent though- have you heard of this? she took the cat for a while until they could find a permanent home. it was an interesting program.
as for the devon rex and sphinx, I've read that people can actually be MORE allergic to them! I've heard that there are enormous numbers of them in shelters because people think they won't be allergic and they are! (plus they're kinda creepy lookin imo)

They also have all of their adoptions as foster to adopt. They have a 2 week period where if things aren't right they take the animal back no questions asked and the animal will NOT be put down. I hope you find something that works for you!0
