So, my life has done a complete 180 recently and now I am applying for two internships at SHAPE and NATO. I never thought I'd pursue a life in politics, but here I am. I always, ever since I was really little, wanted to be an Astronaut, but wow... this is beyond different. I guess my dreams have changed, but seriously, I am a bit stunned at how my life has turned out.

are you living the dream?

Life has a habit for going places you never expected. I actually don't know a single person who's exactly where they expected to be at this point in their life. Stuff happens (sometimes good, sometimes bad) that changes our course over time.

Yes my life is turning out the way it is meant to be.
The uphill battle continues as it always will.
Sometime though, life, it's not a battle at all.
    Determination, will, seeing is believing.
I've already saw my life path flash before me several times.
Nothing can tell me of any different.

Well, I never really thought too much about my future (I still don't, really), I try to just deal with now. I'm not exactly doing what I wanted to do, but I am living in NYC which is where I always wanted to live. I didn't want to be unemployed living in NYC, but (as naff as it sounds) everything happens for a reason. This city isn't meant to be easy and I'll get the job I'm supposed to have when I'm supposed to get it. Until then, I'll keep trying and keep living month-to-month ;)

Never had a plan but I'm getting paid to write so life isn't all bad. Now all I have to do is work on my location. One thing is I didn't picture myself being this old and still dicking around with school. I never should have gone back because now I don't give a damn if I graduate. Senior flameout.

  • Nope... nothing is as I planned. But I'm in the process of reworking the drawings. :)

I had an idea of what I wanted to do in life, and at 24, I'm already way ahead of that! I'm more amazed than anyone, but my friends recently told me they knew it would all happen. I had to jump out on some crazy ledges, and every single one has paid off. My dad would always remind me that the worst someone can say is "no." Then you try again.
I still have a ways to go in my field of work, but I think I've got a great start for my age and not having known anyone in the industry I jumped into.

I never thought I would be living in Chicago, and married at my age!

But I am, and I love it. I also didn't see myself going to Graduate School, but as I've gotten older, I have learned to like school and look forward to it.

Nope. I thought that when I was my age, I would be living in a high rise and drinking grey goose martinis. I don't live in a high rise and I've never had a martini! BUT, I have done some pretty cool things in my life. Right now I am in the process of figuring out what is next. Which at times is scary and frustrating, but I have to admit it is pretty cool that the possibilities are endless. :)

Nope, not at all, but I am at least working at a job with good pay, good benefits, sick days, plenty of vacation at a place where management at least attempts to work with it employees instead of being confrontational. I am married to a wonderful lady who gets me and in which we have so much in common. Never had kids, we tried and are still trying, just hasn't meant to be yet. The part that needs to change is where we live, that I hope will be resolved in the summer.

life never works out like you 'planned,' I think you just have to go with, stay positive and not give up on your dreams.

I thought for sure I would be married with children by now. :( And living in a house! I'm ok but I definitely feel that is what is missing from my life.

    eh, no way...not even close.

Always pictured myself dressed in all black deep behind enemy lines, and sneaking up behind communist soldiers.

My old man was special forces for almost 30 yrs, and actively did black ops for 10 of those years. My grandfather did covert shit for the pentagon during WWII.

I was supposed to be next in line to "serve" my country, but this and that happened including a back injury among other things and I am now having to cope with referring to myself as a "civie." Quite humiliating, actually.
