In elementary school, I just knew that I was going to be the starting right fielder for the Atlanta Braves or the point guard for the Charlotte Hornets.
In middle school, I knew that I was going to be an engineer or some other technical profession.
In high school, I knew that I was going be some type of computer programmer.
In college, I knew that I was going to be some type of computer programmer.
As I got older and my interests solidified more, my vision for the future became more and more accurate. After my computer science degree, I'm now a computer programmer, so now I picture different goals like getting into management or starting my own business...
I never knew what I wanted to be, made a few dollars in my late 20s and moved my family to a place where my wife wouldn't have to work. Over-spent on a house, my industry went upside-down (mortgage) and now our debt is growing every month in a house we can't afford and another baby on the way. The worst part is, I don't know if I'm any good at what I do, and I have no idea what else I could do to make enough to support my family. It's a rough time.
I was all happy pursuing a life of science, then someone asked me this question and now I don't know whether to go into the music industry or not. It's so confusing being young and having options.

I don't think ahead too far. Dreams were smashed in the past. Anything can happen, so I try not to plan things, because you just don't have any control over it.

I know how that goes. I'm currently an "outcast" in my own society (of sorts). Being from my culture, you have two options, you can either a.) be an engineer or b.) be a doctor (which my dad wanted me to become). Now I went the complete opposite way and well, I am no where near either! But my parents gave me too many options and when I was an undergrad, I changed my major, I dunno, something like 4 times. I've seen people do it more, but man, yeah, options suck at such a young age. I like not having options now. I love what I do, and I am very excited for my future.
Don't let the world bring you down, not everyone here is that fucked up and cold. Remember why you came and while you're alive, experience the warmth before you grow old.
Best two days of my life: Oasis at MSG and Pearl Jam at the Gorge.
i am not sure what i had pictured when i was younger, but i am doing and have done what i had hoped for the last few years.
my plans are changing a bit now, and i will begin to try and work myself that way
Quite a long way ahead of what I figured I would be doing at 25, from my expectations around age 15.
I have a few ideas of what I want to be doing around my late 40s and 50s, but for now, it's going great guns and I know exactly what I want to be doing for the next 5 years.
i have alreddie did and accomplished the one thing i always wanted to do a long time ago. Everything after is just cake! however...i DID think i would be some sort of big shot at NIKE at the age of 21!!!

I never in a million years could have predicted where I would be at this point in my life. I mean, my high school year book quote was, "I'm GONNA rock and roll all night and party everyday!" which I meant cause I did it for quite some time.
