and ppl living in or near or tearing down the forest
and calling it home should be prepared to get visits
    from wildlife.
if your poor lil dog or cat get ate by a mountain lion
well i guess that's to bad.
if you're out near these animals and get attacked, well, i am sorry but
that's life and that's to damn bad.

sharks live in the sea, man swims and gets ate on.
i'm sorry and i'm sure it hurts and sucks, but, to fucking bad.
you were out in shark zone= a body of water with salt in it..

it's time ppl quit killing animals for bullshit reasons.
just stop it..it sucks, and it's pathetic.

    EXACTLY.
    this drives me nuts too.

i have ALWAYS felt that way!!
    water, is not my territory.
if i get attacked by a shark, why does the shark die?
the forest, is not my territory.
if i get attacked by a wolf, why does the wolf die?

the problem is society is arrogant. we think we have the power to chose what lives and what dies... it drives me crazy the amount of people who think they can go on any square centimeter of this planet and assume that they are superior to anything else that lives there.

if we're encroaching on the bear's habitat by building houses further and further into where wild life should be, and then the bears come out to find food and walk into 'our' homes, its not the bear's fucking fault its ours.

    This is just sad :(

When will everyone realize that we are all equal!! Whats the difference between them grabbing a dog for food, and us going to the grocery store to pick out steaks?

    Nothing.

There is one key difference between us and those bears. We would kill that bear. Not for food. We would let that meat rot im sure. What we would do is mount that sucker on our living room wall for all our friends and family to see. Now, if u go to a bear cave do you see stuffed dogs and small animals on their wall? Nope. Why you ask? Basically bears have it more figured out then we almighty humans do. Yep. For once in our fucking existence we have been outsmarted and dehumanized. By bears:)

Luckily, there are people out there who wish things would change and are trying their best to do their part. So perhaps there is hope?

so far the overall response from this thread is from people with the same mindset as you or i, who are coming from the same standpoint of not really buying into this humans-are-holier-than-thou bullshit. i honestly thought when i made it that i'll have people saying, 'they're attacking humans and so they should die'... so far i've only had one response in that type of thinking...

there must be hope indeed :)

    fuckers!

or how about the people finning sharks for the underground market and sending them to asia for people to eat not because it tastes good (or has any taste at all even) but because it serves as a fucking status symbol!
theres nothing the corrupt governments are doing in those parts of the world because theres too much dirty money going on in the industry for any of those greedy fucks to do the right thing.

and you are equally my hero :)

i thought so as well... i really hate how the media is playing it up.
i heard some people talking about it today when i was out for lunch with my mom, and i felt like going over and smacking them upside the head for buying into all the hysteria.

there's gotta be a better solution than killing off (5 is it now?) in the past week.
i particularly like the latest one in vancouver, 'police said the bear wasnt aggressive but decided it needed to be destroyed anyways'
edit: i think its only 3 they've killed... oops!

    fuck that.

    just an update
i was up on grouse mountain near the grizzly bear sanctuary when i got involved in a conversation between a few tourists and one of the bear keepers, it turns out the lady who got mauled (the first bear incident that the media has sparked paranoia about bears all over the province) wasn't just minding her own business gardening. the media portrayed the incident as this: a lady was gardening when, without warning, she was attacked by a black bear and viciously mauled in her driveway. neighbours heard her screaming and came to her rescue, her hero was a man who drove his car into the bear to scare it off.

what actually happened was this: the woman's neighbour had been feeding the bear blueberry muffins... the bear had come back to get more when the lady who got mauled spotted him and started shrieking. she then started throwing rocks at the poor thing, which made it run into the backyard. later 5 neighbours cornered it on the side of the house and were throwing things at the bear. the lady was in the way of the bear's only escape route, so the bear went through her and thats when she got attacked.

    outstanding work on this update.
people are so out of control.
these fuckers in this story should all be
slapped stupider than they already are.
either that or shot and killed themselves.

that is complete bullshit that they lied about
the entire story, the media sucks, them people
obvisously lied to the media as well
then the media stretched it out of proportion.

we need to start a thread about these kinds of stories
and always bump it back to the top of this forum.

matter of fact, this just might be the thread for that purpose.

    thanks, :)
it was sort of, right place right time. i was walking by when i heard the bear lady talking about the incident. we all sorta got fired up and were talking about how its not the bears fault and that the bear shouldnt have been shot and that there has to be better ways.

the lady also mentioned that one of the problems is, they train the officers how to be 'bear aware' but the police force rotates the officers so often that once they train certain ones they just get replaced in the area.

anyways, it was great to see more people with the same feelings as us getting riled up.

i like your idea about the thread... do you mean just animal related ones? like sharkwater, these bears etc?

ps i think your my new best friend :)
