August, 1965 .Taken as a six year old to see Mike Bloomfield , Paul Butterfield, and Al Kooper . Don't remember much. My second show was more memorable for me. August, 1967. The Monkees headlined Temple Stadium in Philly.Their opener was a band whose showstopper was a lefty guitarist named Jimi. Sometimes it does pay to have yoiur aunt, then a cool hippie chick, babysit for you.

Almost forgot. My last show was -X- and The Detroit Cobras at Irving Plaza last night. Both bands were en fuego.

First: Nickelback, Default, and Injected, Assembly Hall, Champaign, IL 2002 (its good that I can admit this now, this thread makes me see others have made some bad picks for their first shows too. You don't have much musical perspective as a 17 year old in central Illinois).

Haha! We both got our ears blown away for the first time on the same tour 27 years ago! Too funny. They played a 8,000 seat joint in La Crosse with a day or two from when you saw them.

    heh heh...old as the hills!

I just got tickets to see MMJ in my hometown of Charlottesville, va. Fairly new ampitheater of 3,500. The show is all GA so we will get close.

I may be old, but I see 25-30 shows a year. I try to see as much new music as possible and avoid retreds in the big barns (Van Halen, Police), this tour I'll see PJ 4 times in 6 days and counting REM in Philly...4 shows in 4 nights. Its great turning old, eh
