who would you notify about this?

i received this email today and i think i should probably let someone in a place of authority know about it, but i don't know where to start. any ideas? (by the way...obviously i have no idea who this is from)

Greetings to you my friend,

I know this will come to you as a surprise becauseyou do not know me. I am Mr. Anthony B. Graham, I work in theCentral Bank of Nigeria (CBN), packaging and courierdepartment. I got your contact in my search for ahonest person and some one I could trust. Can I trust you?

I want you to help me clear this package that is already in Europe which I shipped through our Central Bank of Nigeria(CBN)accredited courier agent but the contents of the package is $26,000,000.00 all in $100.00 bills, but the courier company does not know that it is money that I have in the package

All I want you to do for me now is to give me your mailing address, your private phone, and I propose that you will have 30% and 70% will be for me . My identity must not be revealed to anybody.

If this arrangement is ok by you,e-mail me.For security reasons other modalities will be discussed.

    yeah, that is what stood out to me, lol

    maybe it's there way of becoming more PR friendly, thinking the person will see this "warm regards to your family" and forget about the actual scam.

    it's obviously a scam, just wasn't sure if it was worth reporting to someone.
    maybe it's not.

    they are so common, that it probably isn't worth it

    It's worth reporting. :) We have something here called Spamatters and it's run by the government. Whenever I get emails like that one you got I forward them to Spamatters. You may have something similar where you are. :)

    It better not be a scam. I sent them my bank info, social security number, and the security pin on the back of 3 of my credit cards. by the way, I am getting $4.00 from Bill Gates for every character I type when I use Internet explorer.Ima gun be riiiiiiiiiich!

    I get them from time to time to- these are phishing scams I think they call them nowadays, they ask for info/money then fuck you hard like a viagra induced GI on his first leave in 2 years surrounded by viatnamese whores

    They run pretty funny commercials on the radio by me about these things:

    If a stranger came up to you on the street and said your long lost aunt left you $5,000,000, and he just needed a check for $2000 from you to get the process started, would you believe him?
