    I agree, but then you might be giving ammunition to the NHLPA to battle for Simon, this seems like the logical next step.

    Hopefully, no one will give this douche a contract for 2008-09

    well hopefully no team will sign him again. a fight or a scrum during stoppages of play have places in the game but this guy really has no place in the game in his lack of self-control leads to actions that become a combined 55-game suspension in less than a year.

    What a piece of shit he is. What's it going to take for him to get the whole year. Personally, this is more vicious of an attack than what Bertuzzi did. Bertuzzi took a cheap shot that resulted very badly, but Simon was out with the purpose to injure, and luckily it failed.

    the commish for the NHL doesn't have the balls/guts to do something unprecedented like ban this idiot for life or entire season ...as a matter of fact none of the acting commishes from every major sport in this country don't have the guts at all ......that is why the sports in this country are a joke they have let the athletes become bigger than the sports themselves IMO ......

    Not an unexpected ruling from the NHL...it's easy to single out this one guy, but it's really the entire league in general. They allow way too many fights and other ridiculous crap. I loved playing hockey growing up, but I doubt I'll ever be interested in watching it again...buncha goons for the most part. I dunno how the few respectable players can stand it.
