    Didn't say that, but... It still bothers me that people are so tough on her...she has made a ton of big mistakes...but I don't think she deserves to be crucified like she is. The things she does are no worse than things that happen all over the world everday...and someday her kids will have to deal with all this public bs.
    That said...she has always pandered to the tabloids, so much of it is her own fault. From what I know, her sister has not (yet)....She is 16 ffs...she screwed up. I don't get the judgement around here.

    Honestly, from my experience- yeah, pretty much. And that comes from both US suburban and London city life.

    Well, you can form an opinion and judge others based on your experience. I prefer to judge people as individuals. I know a few girls that had kids in their teens....they are all good people, and FAR from white trash. sheesh...most people start having sex by 16...the risk of unwanted pregnancy is there for anyone that does. So I guess that anyone that has sex as a teen is trash.

    well no, you definitely aren't TRASH, but you still shouldn't be having sex as a kid, and if you do, you should DAMN WELL take the responsibility to use as much birth control as humanly possible.

    and she wouldn't be acting like it was all fine and dandy if she were any other 16 year old girl on this planet- she'd be freaking the hell out. But she's led such a bizarro life in the shadow of her messed up sister and whatnot that she doesn't seem to get the consequences of this (at least given the statement to the media anyway!) she probably doesn't even mind that her career with nickelodeon is probably not going to do well with this.

    She’s 16! I’m sure she realized what the responsible thing to do was, and either somehow screwed it up, or said to hell with it. Now she has to deal with it. I don’t think that makes her any less of a person than anyone else. It happens all the time.

    Maybe she IS freaking out. She’s not going to issue a press release saying, “like, omigawd what am I gonna do? I’m so fucked! “. She’s not any other girl on the planet. The consequences are different for her. Besides…who are we to judge if she DOES think it’s fine and dandy? We don’t know her… she could be the anti-Britney. We can debate the finer points of teenage pregnancy forever…it’s the judgement and vilification of a 16 yr old in this thread that is bothering me.

    I dunno, for me it's not so much her age as it is that this doesn't strike me as a family that needs to be procreating in the first place, let alone adding to Brit's tally. The reason her age does make this hilarious is more down to their mother's planned book on parenting- it's all just too, too funny- in an ironic way. And hey 16 or not, I doubt she can top Britters successful brand of parenting, so at least there's that.

    Um, if you are irresponsible enough to say "fuck it" to using birth control at age 16 (which I'm sorry, is a kid), then you are CLEARLY not responsible enough to raise the kid once you have it. there's no reason to not use 2-3 forms of birth control anyway, ESPECIALLY at 16. I think if you're utterly stupid enough not to realize that you shouldn't have a kid (it's basic biology: sperm are small and 16 year old girls are fertile). sorry if you disagree.

    I kind of give her credit. First, it takes balls to go public with that info. As opposed to playing the "watch the baby bump" game, she came out with it. Despite the public crucifiction she was going to endure, the scrutiny, the remarks, ect. she went public.

    I'm sure she's bugging. Who wouldn't? Shit, at 29, I'd FREAK if I found out I was pregnant, so I can't imagine what I'd do at 16!

    Nobody's perfect, so who has the right to judge? Not just "she's too young to have sex" or "she should have used protection" but birth control isn't always a guarentee. Nothing is failproof but abstinence. And anyone throwing stones should take a good hard look at themselves because I'm sure they aren't perfect - I know I'm not!

    I'm not condoning having bb's at 16. But she's taking responsibility for her actions. And that takes guts.

    The other thing that bugs me about this is that it's all over the place! CNN, MSBNC, Local News. Everywhere! Don't we have better things to think about? Isn't there more constructive news out there? Is this what we've become as a country? So obsessed with celebrities that it makes the news front page? While we have a war going, potential of a recession, election, ect. and Jamie Spears Pregnancy is overshadowing all of this stuff? This is the shit that sells papers?????

    Lol…no one needs to procreate. You’re still judging her without knowing any of the circumstances. What’s worse is that you are now saying that you aren’t even judging her for her actions, but for those of her family.
    But whatevs…I’m no saint, I won’t pretend I’ve never had a laugh at a celebrity’s expense… this is not something worth much energy to me anyway :)

    Oh I know, that no one neeeeeds to procreate, don't even get me started on that. What I'm saying though is that she was raised by the same parents who raised her sister, and we've seen- constantly- what a fantastic mother she has turned out to be. It just doesn't bode well, neither does her age- lack of experience, maturity, responsibility, etc. Now of course those things can be true of just about anyone at any age, but at 16, it's pretty much a given.

    I agree that a young girl getting pregnant and ultimately changing her, the fathers and the baby's life forever is not something to laugh at, but at the same time I don't agree with the posters who are having issue over the hilarity of the situation.

    I don't think people on here are laughing at HER on a personal level. The whole messed up picture of her family is one you just have to laugh at. They are continuing to prove they are the epitome of said "White Trash". Now they may or may not be, but the picture they have created through their actions is exactly that. If someone chooses to put on clown shoes, a red nose and walk around honking a funny horn, I'm going to laugh at them.

    and as a side note, I heard on CNN today that the teenage pregnancy rate has gone up for the first time in 2007. Right now 1 in 3 girls will become pregnant as teenagers. ONE IN THREE!!! Now that is not something to laugh at.

    There are numerous girls, of all socio-economic backgrounds, who end up pregnant, not just "white trash" girls. It's just that the girls from lower income families are the ones who are more apt to keep the baby. The straight-A student who captains the girl's volleyball team sometimes gets pregnant, too, but she's ambitious, and a baby gets in the way of these ambitions. As sad as it is, many girls who choose to keep their babies are those whose future aspirations barely include graduating high school, let alone going to college or law school or travelling. I know of girls who actually wanted to get pregnant in high school.


    I heard on the radio this morning that Lily Allen is also pregnant. Celebrities seem to be popping out babies left and right.

    Ok….so you’re assuming the worst. You have no idea if she used every single form of bc or none….
    See what I mean? Why is everyone so eager to jump down her throat? Why do you care at all? Only because of who she is….
    She fucked up. Even if she did decide not to use birth control, it does not mean she isn’t fit to parent. Maybe she isn’t, but I’m not going to pass judgement on her – I know sweet FA about her. My point with the “fuck it” statement was that the mistake has already been made, now she has to deal with it. She really has only two choices – abortion or raise the kid. Adoption is probably not an option – can you imagine THAT media circus? So she made the right choice and is handling it well so far. How well she does as a parent is yet to be seen.

    Bottom line - you don't have to cut her any slack if you don't want to...but you're drawing your conclusions (judging) based on negative assumptions about a person you don't know..

    I don't even know why i got involved in this thread to begin with :D I really couldn't care less.
