    I know I didn't get alot of hugs as a kid...and I suffer from approval addiction but i'm working on it.

    on a serious note, yes..........I did for a long time.......I wanted approval from my husbands parents. I felt like I wanted to do everything right as a wife for their son. Now........EFF THEM!!

    not like hugs?! i LOVE hugs! and seriously, my mother did not hug me enough as a child. :o hahaha. i was a very affectionate/needy kid...and used to ask for more hugs....and she'd say no....she thought i was 'stalling' to postpone going to bed. :( and maybe i was. i don't know. now it's a 'joke' in my family....b/c i used to ask for 22 hugs and kisses before bed. why 22? i think b/c my bday is on the 22nd. and mom said no. thank bejeebus dad didn't...otherwise perhaps i too would suffer from apporval addiction. ;) haha. however, my mom is fantastic - just not ever affectionate. anyhooo...i get plenty of hugs...i am STILL a very affecitonate person....and now i hope i didn't hug you when i met you cbg. :p

    I read a book about it....

    I tried out some of the suggestions and it did not work on this particular manipulative person, unfortunately...

    and i love to give compliments.....but not BS compliments. i compliment people often, but when i do...i truly mean it. i am not about the 'oh let's all BS and make the world shiny and happy all-are-beautiful' crap. :p but i will definitely compliment people on the tangibles and in tangibles....and i think people are often surprised. too many don't share their good thoughts often enough.


    and yes....hugs are awesome!
