Madonna is an old hag

Her music is terrible. She has very little musical talent. Actually, Brittney and her are almost identical.
Haha,,, well, I'm pretty chill.
The 19 month old little girl up the street runs to me when I go outside and jumps into my arms and says "Grandpa!" so I'm used to it now!
Maybe what you meant to say is that Madonna's musical talent is not what you like to listen to, and that you prefer other bands who have a talent that you prefer.Be kind, man

LOL I never thought she WAS good to look at. I've never found her attractive at all. Plus her teeth really bug me too.0 -
i like a couple of her songs....her hands just scare me, they look way spindley. but dunno if i'd call her a hag. hell lindsey lohan is more of a hag in my opinion...more haggard anyway!
i'll give her props for lasting as long as she has, she's a smart cookie.0 -

Exactly, she's taken very good care of herself and she wouldn't still be around if she wasn't smart and a good business woman0 -

saveuplife wrote:Chill. I didn't mean to say that 50 is old old. I meant to say that if you are a fifty year old who still sings pop songs and does some of the risque antics she does, it may be time to "lessen" the risque nature to it all.... that's all.
Wow, a lot of you all like the old hag!
I guess being 48....and female...I might be offended by the term *old hag*
The aging thing doesn't get to me too often, as the alternative isn't something I'm ready for. Having lost quite a few friends already....I'm not ready to join them!

This brings up a question I've had for a while!
Not directed at anyone in particular, and I don't mean to derail a thread.
Ok, so Madonna is 50 now, and people say she should act differently, or hang it up. She looks old without makeup.
I actually think she looks pretty damn good. I don't agree with everything she says or does, but hell, she says it and she could be retired on her private island and stay silent.
She does love attention, and she knows how to get it, and always has , but you sure can't stumble across 25 years or more of success with attention grabbing antics and no talent to back it up. There has to be SOME talent there!
I hear a lot of people say, oh, Mick Jagger and Keith Richards so old and wrinkled, should hang it up.
So, that being said:
What actually is the official age when it's time for someone to "Hang it up"? Who are the judges who deem it time?
What are some of the criteria for that time?
If you are a celebrity or a rock star, and you DO decide to hang it up when someone says, "You should hang it up!", do you do it before, or after the sold out, or mostly sold out world tour of stadiums that hold from 30,000 to 60,000 people each.
haha, I'll take that answer off the air. I have to go make noise with my guitar!Be kind, man

Yup...as always my friend Bobsta says it just right! I wish that I looked as bad as Madonna with with makeup on
I'm not hanging it up until it's over and being that I don't know when that will be....I'm enjoying every single second! My mom sure is too....she is 72 and her live in boyfriend is *gasp* 82!!! They ski, hike, bike miles and miles, go to the gym, vacations at least once a month to very cool locations, have a ton of friends....they aren't planning on hanging it up either! I love being with him and my mom...they love life!

Here's the thing...
Madonna makes news (atleast these day) not because of her music, because of "what she does". That's just simply the truth. She shocks. That's her specialty. I admit, she does have a talent for grabbing attention. Personally, I'm just sick of hearing about her.
My response is that you can't possibly compare her to the Stones. They had musical talent. Madonna became popular because of her catchy tunes she sang (didn't write) and mostly because of MTV. It was what she did that mostly made her popular,.... same with Britney. The Stones were popular because of their music. It was the radio that made them popular.
One was visual. One audio. The visual one's visual talent is dying. The audio one's audio talent.... well, honestly, I'd argue that this is dying a bit as well. However, the Stones can still rock.
You can't compare her to the Stones. They make music and have made some of the best songs of all time. Whereas, Madonna, well, yea she mades some great videos.... and now she looks like a frog.0 -

They should hang it up, not because they're old, but rather because they haven't written a decent song in 20 years!!I used to love them...
When PJ starts to "lose it," they should hang it up, too.If I had known then what I know now...

Good for her, bought time she uses her fame to spread something decent.
Obviously, she is trying to start a spark...seems to be working.

I don't think many artists make the news with their music. Most celebrities who make the news because of some sort of controversy and she did create that, for better or worse!
You don't hear the five o'clock news anchor saying, "Bono really nailed Where the Streets Have No Name last night. Here's Ted with a live report!"
Madonna is a whole different type artist than the Stones, but they still sell out stadiums on their tours. Madonna's music doesn't make the news, but a hell of a lot of people are going to see her live on her tour this year!
She didn't write the most amazing music for my tastes either, but her forte is as a performer nonetheless, in whatever form, video, stage, audio and she puts on a helluva live show, as do the Stones and the Who, and Tony Bennett, Neil Young, Tina Turner and a lot of others. All different but they're all talented in their own way. It's part of their art! Madonna's flashier than the Stones but they're both audio and visual in their own ways as is Tony Bennett et al, and somehow Madonna made a lot of people happy and still is.
Ok, well, I don't have any of the latest Madonna CD's either. Not a HUGE fan, but here I am defending her!
There sure are some bad pictures of her on the net, but they're photos and not live. A friend of mine was on her last tour and I saw her without makeup in the flesh and she looked pretty good! She has some character (That's what we call wrinkles later in life!
) but DEFINITELY wasn't an old hag.
She wasn't slutty either. Well, when I met her anyway!
Haha,, there WERE a couple of good songs on the latest Stones album, but I forget what they are! Still rock live, though!Be kind, man

I disagree, her albums and singles still do incredibly well over here in the UK. Of course the controversial stuff she does adds to her success, but ultimately her career is still based in music and lavish tours.0 -

She's a terrible musician and average singer. Her risque act is what carries her. She needs to do crap with crosses, compare McCain to Hitler, kiss 20 year old girls to stay in the news... and therefore, relevent. Her pop style is fleeting. And she looks like a foot.0 -
